Apple iPod nano 8GB 4th Generation - Old Model
This "Apple iPod nano 8GB 4th Generation" is my second one. I use it daily and I love it. I bought this one to replace my first one that I retired to sit permanently in a speaker dock. I like the size; it fits nice on my upper arm without being cumbersome. I love the screen because I want to see the setting adjustments as I make them, and I want to see the album and the song titles displayed at a touch. And most of all, I have never had any problems with the iPod nano 4th gen. I hope that this "Apple iPod nano 8GB 4th Generation" "Old Model" version stays available.

Great MP3 player
I've had other MP3 players but this one is a great value. The menus are easy to navigate, the controls are just as you would expect, and the battery lasts for about 8 hours if you are only listening to music. If you play the games, the battery drains quickly. The only feature I did not like is that you cannot charge the unit with the cable that it came with while you listen to the music. As soon as you plug the ipod to the computer it "docks" it, charges and doesn't let you use the menu. When you undock it, all is normal again, but the battery doesn't charge. I purchased an inexpensive wall/car charger that does let you charge and use. I also bought a silicone skin cover, and a screen protector that I would recommend. Size is perfect, storage size is great for most users. 8gb is a lot of music! Price on Amazon was the most competitive, shipping was free and you may also save on state taxes. The headphones are good and do feel a bit "big" so they don't go into my ears snug but the sound quality is very good. I would recommend this MP3 player to anyone. If I lost it or it broke I would definitely buy another.

great item to have
The 4th gen iPod is full of features and is very portable. The new 5th generation looks the same and is the same size, but has a couple more features, which is nice if you need them. But now that it is out, prices have dropped on the 4th gen, and if you don't mind giving up a couple things (compare the two and judge for yourself), then this makes an easy to use, portable, great unit to have. Add in the universal accessibility of iPod, and it is a no-brainer to carry one around, whether in the car, in the gym, or just around the house. Very easy to use, sound is good (better if you ditch the crappy headphones it comes with and get something decent), and very small size makes this a must have, especially in any one of the available colors.

ipod nano 4th gen.
I had an ipod shuffle that I really liked but it didn't work with my new car's radio system, so I needed to upgrade to a nano. I chose a 4th generation nano because I don't need the video element in the car. I'm not used to using the wheel, so it annoys me a little, but it does make it nice and compact with no buttons sticking out. I like the way my shuffle clamped on to me rather than me needing to buy something else to be able to wear the nano. I've really only used it in the car, and I love the sound and clarity of the music on ipod, and it works wonderfully. I've had it maybe a month and I've only had to restore it once but then I'm older, and technology doesn't come as easily to me as it seems to come to these young things. ^_^

iPod nano 4th generation
This product is overall a good deal, but Apple still has a long way to go. I enjoy it somedays, I hate it others, especially since iTunes can convert my .wma music, but not my videos or movies since Apple wants to force you to buy them again in their format (they gave me some crap about liscensing). Amazon gave me the same thing. (The first thing that came to mind was "monopoly".) But anywho, it is what it is. At the end of the day, while this is a descent piece of machinery, I still wish, for more reasons then those stated above, that i would have got a MP3 player from neone but Apple. (LOL, tell me why I got all the bad memory flash backs of Macintosh from when i was in school, AFTER i bought the iPod?!)

Seemed like a god deal, but ...
I bought this for my husband after he lost his old 4th gen iPod. It was plainly advertised as refurbished and seemed like a good price compared with a new 4th gen one. It was in good condition, as advertised by the seller, and came with a charger and ear buds. It worked well ... BUT ... it turned out that he could not load any music from CDs onto it - it would only accept songs we had bought from iTunes. Big disappointment, as he had loaded lots of music from CDs into our iTunes library and had put them on his original iPod with no trouble. He ended up giving it away.

another great ipod
My 14 year old daughter had worn out her mini, and got this one for her birthday. She loves it! Will know better how it performs after school has started and it goes back and forth on the bus everyday. Like the long size (i have the tiny Ipod video). Feels good in the hand, but not tiny enough to get lost. Would not fit on her old ipod speakers-wouldn't fit in the dock space. Used her b-day money to get new speakers. You can't charge the Ipod with a plug, only computer or ipod speakers. Only problem-older Ipods would show the battery charge icon, this one only has a tiny icon at the top of the screen, but it did charge. Probably saves on battery life to do it that way. Amazon had the best price, $133. and free ship.

Upgrade from Shuffle
This was an upgrade for my 7-year-old. With the new version coming out with the camera, the price dropped sufficiently enough to warrant the purchase. He loves it. Easy to control and navigate for a young person. Can listen by song list, artist, genre. Great sound plus now he has video, album art, and pictures on his iPod. He takes it everywhere. Oh, and it had to be blue! Best Buy dropped their prices first, but didn't have blue. Amazon responded quickly and dropped their prices so we go exactly what we wanted at almost the same price as Best Buy.
