Fall from Grace - Opened my heart
I have been a Danielle Steel devotee for more years than I can remember. I do, however, remember that "Palomino" was the first Danielle Steel book I remember reading. I love Ms. Steel's style of writing, the way that she introduces each character of the book, and how she weaves the storyline of each character with the others. Some characters have only a peripheral relationship, while others are woven into closer relationships. Danielle Steel is a master at this.Fall from Grace immediately grabbed my attention and, from then on, I truly had a hard time putting it down at night. I haven't had a book that kept me so totally engaged with the characters and the storylines for a very, very long time.I identified with Sydney's character very much. Sydney and I both lost our husbands unexpectedly much earlier than either of us had imagined. We didn't have children of our own, but my husband had a daughter from his previous marriage. She was in no way anything like the twins and fortunately my husband and I had wills which took care of our property and other small items to be given to his siblings.I certainly suffered from severe depression following my husband's death and the financial difficulties that I encountered (difficulty paying our mortgage with only my income, paying off my husband's debts, etc), and abruptly losing my job of nearly 33 years five months after my husband's death. Talk about getting the rug pulled out from underneath you. When Sydney contemplated suicide after her arrest for something she had nothing to do with, I sobbed. When Ed Chin heard the anguish in her voice, the same anguish he had heard and ignored from his friend/lover years before, and immediately came to Sydney's side, I sobbed. It is true that you find out who your friends really are when you are facing difficult circumstances in your old life.Reading and watching Sydney as she began to rebuild her life from nothing was so inspirational. Finding a business partner in Ed Chin saved her life in more ways than one. Once Sydney began to slowly and carefully let people back into her life she was once again able to open her heart. The most joyous occasion was Steve's early Christmas present for her. You see, the things that you and I take for granted each and every day had been taken from Sydney. The "gift" from Steve returned those most simple things back to her. On that occasion, once again I sobbed, this time tears of joy. This is definitely NOT a book to be missed. Thank you Danielle Steel for sharing these characters with us. Fall from Grace is now my favorite book from my favorite author.

Excellent story!
Another really good story and easy reading, hard to put down novels. I enjoyed every chapter and found myself hooked on the main character in the first five pages.

This was a very complicated real story but very down to earth. As always very entertaining and a page turner.Glad it had a happy ending for Sydney I was afraid something would happen to Bob!

Been along time
I haven't read a Danielle Steel in 20 years, I don't know why I picked this one up but I am glad I did. Good read, liked the characters and the introduction got me.

Like most of Danielle Steel books this was hard to ...
Like most of Danielle Steel books this was hard to put down until it was finished. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I have to say the middle of this book bogged down a little with the repetitive feelings/thoughts Sydney had. I understand she may have been telling different people her feelings/thoughts, but the reader had already "heard" it many times. felt like it was used just to fill pages. That being said, the story was true Danielle Steel, with believable and very likable characters and story line. I truly liked the book and would recommend to all who love her books.

If you take this novel to the beach, bring plenty of sunscreen...
This novel will provide a great summer beach read, but bring plenty of sunscreen because you will not be able to put the book down once you read the first chapter. Danielle Steel interwove the protagonist, Sydney's sudden fall from 'riches to rags to riches' theme with an insightful glance into the fashion industry. She drove the story in a realistic manner where I felt both her painful emotions as she lost her husband and privileged life and then got innocently caught up in felony charge, and also her joyful emotions where she built a successful fashion company surrounded by the support of friends and family. I loved Sydney's character and the happy ending where good eventually prevailed over 'evil' was satisfying.

***LOVED IT***
Another winner from Danielle Steel. Suddenly becoming a widow and finding out your deceased husband never updated his will or your prenup leaves Sydney in shock. Everything, money, house and all furnishings were left to her step-daughters. The step-daughters who hated her and gave her thirty days to be out of the house.Sydney doesn't know what she is going to do. She has very little money, hasn't worked in sixteen years and has no place to live. When you don't know how you can go on you find out just how strong you are. A riveting story that will keep you turning the pages. I loved every minute of this book and was sorry for it to end.

Enjoyable reading
I’ve read many of this author’s books and this was another I have enjoyed. An unusual storyline but believable. I just wish the author’s style was not to repeat herself so much, hence the rating.

Cheesy
Not read any DS before but was struggling to find something to read and this came up on my feed. Won’t read any more by this author either. Total cheese with boring and predictable characters and story line. No depth to a single character at all. Obviously mass appeal to many but not for me.
