I bought this castor oil because I wanted to use it for my eyelashes and eyebrows. This kit comes with the oil and two quality small containers, one for lashes and with a lash brush. The other is for eyebrows and with an eyebrow brush. I keep mine laying down and the small tubes never leak. The kit also has a couple tops for the bottle depending on what you doing with the oil but I wanted to fill those little containers so I put on the small tip.Everything was going fine until the top shot off because I squeezed too hard!I ended up doused in the oil, thankfully I wasn’t dressed yet so I could scoop it up. It was also all over the floor and counter.Now, if you’ve never used castor oil, its texture can be a bit surprising. It’s very sticky and it’s very heavy. Heavier than most oils a person might use for beauty. Even solid oils for hair and body.So here I am, covered in extremely sticky oil, as is everything else. I don’t know what to do but I don’t want to waste it so I scoop up all the oil down my front and wipe it in my hair!I figure if it’s good for eyebrows and lashes, it’s likely good for hair on my head too. My hair is long, soft, fine and wavy/curly. It’s a mix of 2C and 3A.Anyway, I keep wiping it off myself and onto my head. I figure it’s going to be terrible to get washed out but what am I supposed to do with it?I leave it on until right before bedtime.As I’m rinsing, I notice that my hair is feeling much less greasy just with water so I only shampooed it once. I actually added a very small amount of conditioner at the ends and rinsed it out quickly.After I got out, I gently toweled it off and went to sleep with my hair damp. I don’t usually do that but I figured it would likely need to be washed again in the morning anyway.So, the next morning, I’m prepared to be met with a greasy disaster sticking up everywhere so I head to the bathroom to see.I was absolutely stunned!My hair was ridiculously beautiful!There was no grease. There was no mess of any kind! No frizz either. My hair was glossy. Just beautiful. Oh! And it was like that with no additional product in it.I usually have leave in conditioner, volume mousse, curl cream, hair oil of some kind, maybe a sea salt spray and hair perfume. With this, I had nothing in it. If I were going out I might have added a teensy amount of curl cream or something but it wouldn’t be terribly necessary. My curls were defined, hair soft as silk, scalp happy, no frizz or flyaways, and bouncy. Just lovely. I didn’t even have to style it! I wasn’t going out anywhere that might require more than wash and wear so it was perfect.I’ve noticed one other thing. My hair had really thinned due to stress and I was having a horrible time getting any length or thickness. A clerk in a store even said I had a “bang fro” (her words, not mine) because my hair line was trying to grow back but it was short and tight curled as it tried to get length.I’ve used lots of biotin and collagen regularly and that helped but not as much as I’d like. It took me two years to get my bangs past their goofy tight curled situation.I do have a shampoo and condition that definitely helps and you can tell pretty quickly. I don’t use it as often as I should because I’m not fond of the scent although it’s not bad, just not me. After my castor oil experience, my hair really responded. I have more thickness and length than I did and it’s noticeable. I’m really happy with that particular result as well.In closing, I like it for my lashes and brows but I LOVE it in my hair and I definitely recommend you give it a try! I’m actually sitting here right now with it in my hair so try it out. I’ll keep fingers crossed that you have the kind of experience I did!

the applicator nozzle doesn't secure on the bottle. if you wanted to keep the nozzle lid on you would need to store in a secure location. I feel like it takes away some of the functionality of the lid by having different options. Otherwise, the product works as it should. The original lid does fit securely. So, you could just switch lids around or place into a specific container for your needs.
