This is larger than expected. I hadn't read the description before buying it and was expecting a normal size pedicure tool. So this is a pleasant surprise. The file I received is made of clear plastic. I think this comes in black too from the pictures in the reviews.My first impression is quite good. The handle is contoured to fit well in your hand and doesn't slip. I used the course side first and it got rid of all the hard skin then I followed it up with the finer grit and this made my skin really smooth. The easiest way to get soft feet is to remove the dead skin first using this tool and then before going to bed, slather your feet with Vaseline and wear a pair of socks. Wake up to soft feet. Works every time:)Just wash it with water to clean it and if you think it's still dirty just use a brush (an old tooth brush works great) and it should be clean.The printed "VEGA" on the handle scratched off easily but that doesn't really matter. The handle is strong and contoured well and the file is coarse enough. This is quite a good tool at a reasonable price.

Very very very good product,. Make heels so soft from first use only. Very good in size. Make cleaning super easy.

Fantastic product. No need to invest in expensive products like Scholls battery operated pedicure tool (the unit + refills are over priced). The same effect or even better on using this emery file at a fraction of the price one would pay for the Scholls or similar Chinese products like Pedi-Spin and the American Ped-Egg. I have used both. Though of course the battery operated ones allow you to expend less effort! However, keep in mind that in addition to the initial investment in the unit (and refills) the batteries need to be replaced often or one needs to invest in rechargeable unit and batteries - which is what I did). So all in all very expensive.Basically, the same substance used on the rollers in the above products is on this file as well i.e. the emery surface - 'sandpaper' in layman language) which is in two grits (coarse and fine). I used it immediately on receiving it (on dry clean feet) and was very surprised at how effectively and quickly it removed the dead hard coarse skin on my heels and entire soles, including under the toes and sides of toes and feet. The amount of dry skin dust (powder-like sawdust) that comes out as you scrub at your feet with the emery file is astonishing. Do place a dark colour cloth under your feet when you use this. You will be surprised as well at the amount of skin dust that falls off onto it! I would have posted pictures of the dust or a video - but did want to gross people out! :)The file even gets at the hard-to-reach contoured area between toes and feet. That's because of the contoured shape of the file. Also, as it is large, one does not have to spend as much time on the entire foot. Far more effective at removing dead skin (my opinion!)Do be careful not to get over-enthusiastic and scrub all your skin away in one shot! It looks deceptively un-dangerous, but one can scrub away too hard and damage the skin. So be careful. It does a great job at the very first session. However as others have suggested, do use a cream / vaseline / almond oil on your feet and undersides of feet, wear socks and go to bed, to see the results the next day!Definitely buying some more (will give one to my maid as well to use!) as I am sure the emery board on the file may not last too long at the rate I am using it. I will update on the life of the product at a later date. But definitely worth buying.
