I can't believe I waited this long to replace the trackpoint nub. It feels perfect again! One thing I didn't understand - the 'Low Profile' vs 'Ultra Low Profile' has more to do with the size of the square this plugs into, NOT the height of the red nub. I bought the Ultra Low Profile by accident - they didn't fit since I had the larger square part. If you look at the back side of your stock red nub it should be pretty obvious which one you need.

I have started collecting and using older model Thinkpad laptops. Many that you get have an old worn out Thinkpoint "nipple" or not the one that at least I prefer. I bought these as being not the cheapest available, but much less expensive than the OEM ones from Lenovo. When they arrived I was pleased to notice the package said "Made in Japan" as these days that seems to indicate better quality. These fit perfectly on my T420 and X220 laptops. The grip and feel is just like the originals (I used to use Thinkpads all the time for work) and make using these older machines a much nicer experience.

Fits an X220/X230 just fine, however these wear out much quicker than the original IBM/Lenovo caps.

My five-year-old Thinkpad Compact USB Keyboard works great, but the trackpoint cap has been missing for a while. I have been unsuccessful to find the right cap for my keyboard because there are a lot of variants of caps. Once I bought a 5 mm height variant, I desperately cut the bottom to fit it to my keyboard, it just wobbled and couldn't be used. I bought this cap type as the final try. Fortunately, it fits well with my keyboard so I think I can use my keyboard for the next couple of years.

Firstly, the standard low-profile does work with a Thinkpad T480. If you have a T480s you’ll probably need the ultra low-profile. Initial quality seem good and my track point is work 100% better now that the old work original is gone. Long term we will see.The package states Made in Japan. But that’s doubtful given the seller account has Chinese content all over it.You can get 10 OEM a caps from Lenovo for <$10 shipped. Here you only get 3 for basically the same price. But I didn’t want to wait and assuming these last as long as the original I’m ok with only a couple extra replacements.

bought as a replacement for an old ThinkPad 09-W14 USB hard wired keyboard I found on eBay that arrived with no pointer. this fit on and works great.

Does not fit my Thinkpad. Impossible to contol the cursor with this cap.

As the headline says I got it for the Lenovo Trackpoint Keyboard II and it popped right on.Not sure if it's any better than the original when it was new, but it's at least as good. And it's MUCH better than the original that's been used several hours a day for 3 months. I'll probably replace it every month or two. Makes a huge difference for a few bucks per change.
