Black and White spreads with many of the same pocket
This book is filled with interesting and cute ways to fold your (or a hosts') toilet paper. Many of the designs start with the same basic folds, but blossom into something unique. There are, however, quite a few which are the same basic pocket fold with one small variation (one pleat or two pleats, etc). There is a good variety, I feel, of quick pockets and more involved flowers though. So if you have a few seconds or a few minutes, you can create something. The book is printed in black and white which is fine since you do not need four-color spreads for toilet paper, but it lends a 'lesser quality' feel to the overall product. Also, if you are trying to practice a fold, the book is a standard binding and does not lie flat. So you either need a paper weight or a cook book holder to keep the pages open if you need to see the steps as you go. Some of them are easy enough to look at, close the book, and fold, but some are not.

Nice gift for someone in prison
I sent this to someone in prison to try to give him something to do in salutary. It worked out wonderful he was even able to send me some gifts with the stuff he made. He is pretty young I don't know how an older person would like it. He can now make people gifts to send home to their mothers. Maybe older people could send something home to loved ones.

Wasn't what we were led to believe...but cute
I ordered this for my wife when all of friends convinced her she just had to have it. Being a "guy" I guess the idea of toilet paper flowers on my butt wipe supply is lost. My wife was disappointed, though she hasn't been able to completely describe what she was expecting. Best I can get to is this: If you have need in your bathroom to impress the first visitor with need for toilet paper, this is the book for you. However, I'm still trying to understand what the second visitor gets.

If you are bored in the bathroom..
I imagine this to be a good thing when you are stuck in a toilet for longer than you wish with diarrhea. At least it will keep you entertained and creative, which may not help with your underlying condition, but will at least make you a bit happier than you originally were. It is also a good book to have around for Bed and Breakfasts if you want to surprise your guests with some special item when they first arrive in the toilet. Some of the things detailed are complicated, some are not. And there is just enough choice for anyone.

How cute is this?
The wonderful lady that cleans for me alway leaves the toilet paper folded at the end of the roll. That, along with putting a tissue rose on top of the booutique tissue box is her way of finishing up the bathrooms and powder room for me. So, when I saw this advertised somewhere, I came to Amazon, which has every book imaginable, and found the book for a small price. So, I bought two! One for my wonderful cleaning lady and one for myself. I may not make everything in the book but I still like looking through it. It is amusing and fun! I think others will think it fun, too. How cute is that?

Delightful
I like to do origami, but I am new at it. I thought it would be fun to learn to do toilet paper origami since using the restroom is an everyday, normal thing for everyone. I thought "how fun would it be to make something cute out of the toilet paper, so the nest person to use the bathroom would have a nice little surprise". So I bought this book to learn, and every page has a nice design from roses, flowers, animals, etc. There are detailed step by step instructions with precise pictures for each origami shape. Even my husband enjoyed this book, and practices the folds. It is delightful. I would reccomend this book, to anyone and everyone.

Overall worth purchasing
The projects are easy and turn out looking great, even the first time I tried each one. Lots of different folds, or variations on folds, to turn out some cute projects.I would have given this book 5 stars, except that all of the photos are in black and white -- none in colour. It gives the book a sort of "cheap" look, and does make it (insignificantly) more difficult to see exactly what's being done at each step.

I love this
Some of the photos could e better, but there's a website mentioned in it that I may have to check out. Some photos look a little faded, but in spite of that I still love the IDEA of this book. I would have liked more designs, but it is what it is, and what it is - is enough to make me happy. It's a great conversational book and everyone I show it to has enjoyed it or wanted to try out a design or two (with MY toilet paper!) If I knew all this before - I'd still buy it again.

Not suitable for use with UK loo roll!
I bought this book (aswell as Linda Wright's other Toilet Paper Origami book) to use for a micro-teaching exercise thinking that it would be an unusual activity. However most of the designs (and all the best designs) are only suitable for American loo paper. American loo paper is square, whereas UK loo roll is rectangular. Origami is reliant on starting with a perfect square. Therefore, I can't use the ideas. Very disappointed. Not a bad book though, but I can't really imagine who would want to use the ideas in reality!

Its Paper so why not fold it?
Toilet Paper Origami (Ed. 2.0) / Toilet Paper Origami - on a Roll (Ed. 1.0)This review covers both the above books.I came across these two books by Lynda Wright while looking for something to display/teach at an Origami convention in the UK (yes there are such things!). The theme for the convention was paper - toilet paper (TP) is 'paper' so why not?For the origami purists out there not all the TP designs in these books are pure origami, i.e. they are not all just folded, most are but not all. Some employ twisting, some employ punching holes and some involve other decoration; there is even very occasional use (say it very quietly) of scissors! The books are in black and white (except the covers). Every design has a full page photo of the finished article and the instructions for each design are given via photos of each stage with accompanying text. There is even the occassional bit of TP trivia for good measure. The folding techniques employed are at the simple end of things but because TP is not the sort of paper normally used for folding it presents its own challenges; you are not going to get sharp creases for example. A few of the designs will provide a challenge so might take a few attempts to get a pleasing result. All TP is not the same; it can be plain; have embossed patterns in it; it may be quilted etc some designs might work better with certain types of TP. Another point to note is that the author is from the USA and it looks like US TP is approx 4 inches (10 cm) square / sheet. In the UK a TP sheet is approx 4 x 5 inches (10 x 12.5 cm); so rectangular not square. You need to take this into account in some of the designs. The designs are meant to be made and displayed on the end of the toilet roll while it is still on the toilet roll holder (loose end hanging over the top of the toilet roll). The second book also introduces some designs for your spare TP roll.I haven't made all the designs in these books but taught / displayed a range of the designs (with the authors' permission) as follows:Taught: Sailboat Afloat (book 1); Heart in a Sleeve (book 1); PaperWhite in a Point (book 1); Rosebud (book 1); Candlestick (book 2); Upsy Daisy (book 2) - this was all done in approx 1 hour and well received.Display: Upsy Daisy (book 2); Corsage (book 2); Fandangle (book 1); Ship Ahoy (book 2); Bodacious Bow (book 2); Pretty Posy (book 2); Candlestick (book 2).So overall a fun / quirky off shoot for those into their paper folding (as well as for those that have never tried it). Hopefully it won't drive you around the bend :)Enjoy!

Love looking at the photos
Delightful book. Love looking at the photos. Most are REALLY easy. One or two defy gravity. Your guests will be AMAZED! Hint: PUT A 2ND ROLL OF TOILET PAPER NEARBY BECAUSE YOUR GUESTS MAY NOT WANT TO "RUIN" THE BEAUTIFUL DESIGN. Love the ending, too: "May your life be long and useful... like a roll of toilet paper." I'm not keen on using plastic stickers, though. Can't be good for the environment.

I bought this book while off work with a broken foot, I love this book every toilet in my house has a design from the book, it a very easy book to follow, so addictive, that when I use other bathrooms I leave an origami design. When I put my house up for sale they all said how lovely the toilet paper was presented at feed back, sold within two days purchaser has asked me to leave the toilet rolls I have done. Xxxxx

Easy for beginners and moving onto something with a little more complexity and flair, I bought it because I clean our local village hall, it's put a smile on some faces. A fun purchase.
