THIS THING IS AWESOME
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I brought this card reader because the one I have now works, but transfers the files ( my pictures ) so slow and gets really hot. So hot that one time I could not hold the CFexpress card in my hand. That was when I decided to stop being cheap and buy this one. THIS CARD READER IS AWESOME. It moves my files quick fast and does not get hot. If you buy this card reader you won't regret it.

Good fast reader
Works flawlessly. Very fast. I'm using with CFExpress type A 4.0 cards, and an getting very close to the published speeds.Important to connect with good USB C 4 cables, otherwise the speed dropped off significantly.

Good, but not perfect.
Works well with the faster OWC cards, but not backwards compatible.

Card reader requires macOS 11.x Big Sur or later
My iMac runs macOS 10.14.6 Mojave to be compatible with Aperture.app. There is no mention that card reader requires macOS 11.x Big Sur or later on the Amazon webpage. The Card Reader works as expected on my MacBook running a later version of macOS but not on my iMac where I need it.

Ridiculously, insanely fast. If you have a dedicated TB4 port for it, buy it!!!
The first time I used this reader I was completely blown away at its speed. When importing photos into Lightroom Classic from a CFexpress B card, I was used to starting the import and grabbing a beverage and perhaps a snack while it imported ~300 RAW photos from my 45 MP camera.Instead, using this reader I didn't even make it to the refrigerator before I heard the "ding" indicating the import had completed. This reader absolutely FLIES, and you won't be sorry you purchased it (unless you will miss those photo import snack/drink breaks.)

super fast
used it with mac mini m2 pro. Using nikon 660gb cfb cards was getting transfer of 1700mb.Of note, there is manual switch on it to use for usb 4. With a good cable usb c to usb 3.0 cable I able to connect it directly to a synology 923 NAS. The cable that came with nikon z8 did work well.Does Not get very hot which is great.

Not New, Open-Box
The card reader works great but unfortunately I have to rate it one star because all three of the ones I ordered were in used open-box condition with the seals broken! My guess is there is a lot of these open-box because OWC had to send out a bunch of loaners for people to upgrade their OWC Type A cards.

Not as Fast as Claimed - See Speed Test
Not as fast as claimed. I tested this OWC Atlas CFexpress 4.0 Type B card reader plugged into a Thunderbolt 4 port on an Apple M2 Ultra Mac Pro tower using a Delkin Black 128GB CFexpress card and using Black Magic disk speed test and got 1404MB/s write speed and 1486MB/s read speed. Not the 5000MB/s Real-World Speed claimed by OWC. Maybe a different CFexpress B card would be faster but I can't see it being 3 times faster. It did work plug and play without and problems which is not always the case for OWC products.
