the product arrived and was as described...but it came from someplace in Japan. I just looked on line and I could have purchased from the source Santa Maria Novella online for $less than this listing. My mistake for never checking the actual company and just relying on Amazon.

It’s THE original potpourri
The media could not be loaded. This potpourri might be confusing to anyone who is not familiar with The Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella. It’s the one of the oldest known pharmacies in the world and produces exquisite products from a garden started by Florentine monks in 1221! Needles to say, it is not your basic potpourri. First off- the scent is not floral or powdery like the ones grandma used to have. This scent is complex, earthy & spicy but somehow refreshing. Idk how to describe it but it is intoxicating. It’s very fragrant but will dissipate over time. That’s ok though because it’s meant to be refreshed. All you have to do is spritz it with a bit of water, give it a little toss or a shake and it’ll wake right up again. I keep mine in a shallow ceramic pot which really helps when I need to spritz & shake. I then just place it on my coffee table and crack the lid open about half way and enjoy the scent every time I come into the room. Sometimes I’ll place it by the entry when I’m having guests over. It’s definitely a unique scent and a pleasant surprise. I’ve had guests asking what that smell is or tell me that it smells like a temple or “rich people’s house” haha. Another thing to note is that this stuff literally lasts FOREVER! I bought one pouch about 2yrs ago and put 1/2 in my container. I thought I would have to replace it with the other half at some point but so far it’s still going strong with the spritz & shake method. It’s one of the best scents and products I’ve ever known and now I can’t live without it. Out of all the Santa Maria Novella products it’s one of the best bang for your buck products and absolutely worth every penny. I would buy it again if mine ever ever runs out, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to last 100 years.**(Packaging looks like it’s changed from when I purchased 2years ago but i checked the website and it does match the Amazon image. If you are unsure, it is now available to purchase in the US through their website.)
