ECCPP 2pcs Front Hood Lift Supports Struts Gas springs for 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO 4097

Bought these for my 04 GTO. They are easy to install. One was strong enough to hold the hood up while I installed the other side.

These were a perfect fit on my 04 GTO. Very strong and look to be good quality. Highly recommend.

I had a hood that would suddenly slam shut, literally when the wind blew. Very dangerous.These are easy to install and work perfectly. Will lift the hood from about half way up. I will update this review if they don't last.To install, you will need a TP30 Torx Plus bit unless you want to Vice Grips the screws out and replace them with regular Allen heads. Regular Torx bits do NOT fit properly. The top releases by prying outward on the metal clip with a screwdriver while pulling away from the ball mount.Follow up: 2 years later they are still holding strong.

Just installed on my 04 GTO. Fit perfect! The socket is pregreased with lube. The mount plate doesnt come with screws use original. I suggest cleaning under and around before mounting. Spray a little lithium down before mounting to disipate water and prevent corrosion on threads. Snug fit. No torq needed. Screws should be cleaned and star bit needs to fit solid.Remove old socket clip from back with a flathead screwdriver just enough to remove. Makes unscrewing and install easy.

These worked perfectly for my 2006 Pontiac GTO. They seem strong. While changing them out, The hood was able to stay up by itself with just one of these installed while I was working on the second. With both, it's very stable. Hoping these last a long time. Good value!
