Essential addition to Garmin Dive Computers - Never Dropped Connection All Day
I bought this along with the Descent X50i for a recent dive trip and did an extensive amount of research before going with this Brand / Model. I know Shearwater are pretty strong in the wireless market, but there were several features that Garmin offered that made me select the Garmin.I liked the idea of the Sonar technology and the increased range. Since I frequently dive with my family, I like the idea of being able to monitor their air/depth as they are just getting started with diving. One other factor that made me select Gamin over the other brands is my familiarity with Garmin. We use several of their products for running, cycling, etc. and have had consistently good experiences. Some additional notes on concerns I had:SubWave (Sonar) Noise: I read a lot about the sound that the SubWave makes. I didn’t hear anything and neither did the rest of my group. I thought maybe it was due to my age, but everyone else is in their 20’s and no one heard anything. I even had the T2 Transmitter power turned up one level from the standard to make sure I didn’t have connection issues and still didn’t hear anything.T2 Connection: I was testing the set up in a pool prior to our trip to make sure everything worked correctly and became concerned because the connection would drop and I kept losing the Air Pressure data. I came close to returning the unit thinking it was a defect, but luckily decided to call Garmin Support first. They were VERY helpful and explained that the unit uses Bluetooth above water and Sonar under water. When you initially enter the water, the unit will switch over to Sonar mode but it waits until you’re around 10 feet under. The pool I was using to test was only 8 feet deep so it never made the switch and would lose the Bluetooth connection within that time. I also learned that the T2 Transmitter has it's own depth gauge which drives the switch-over not the depth on the computer. Garmin assured me that it would be fine once I was in deeper water and it was. Everything worked perfectly. My last concern was that I’d lose the connection again when I was ascending and at a safety stop, but Garmin said that once it’s in Sonar mode it should remain there until I surface. They were right. I did 4 safety stops at depths from 20-12 feet and never lost connection.Overall I’m extremely happy with the T2 Transmitter. It held connection throughout the entire day, never dropping the signal. I’m looking forward to others in my group getting one so we can monitor each other’s air and depth, but that will require an additional investment.

Nice
I really enjoy this, works flawlessly! I haven't been able to use the subwave features yet, like underwater messages, as I don't know anyone who has one yet, but I did just update it, when I got the message, and it took less then a minute.

Essential Safety and Seamless Integration for Advanced Divers
I’ve been using the Garmin Descent T2 Transceiver on my dives, and it has been a game changer. It seamlessly connects to my Garmin Descent Mk3i dive watch, providing real-time tank pressure, air time, and air consumption rate, which significantly enhances my situational awareness. While the pod is easy to install, I recommend using a short 6-inch HP hose for easier attachment, especially if your octopus rig is a bit tight, as the pod can be too wide for direct connection in some setups. The ability to pair multiple transceivers is an excellent safety feature, allowing me to monitor my dive buddies’ air levels when I’m guiding less experienced divers. The wireless communication is reliable even at 30 meters, and the preformatted diver-to-diver messaging adds an extra layer of convenience. Though it’s a bit pricey, the peace of mind it provides underwater is well worth the investment.

Works! as advertised
Once coupled to your GARMIN DESCENT Mk 3i it works like a charm: open the valve and apply pressure to your 1st stage regulator and u get all the info and „goodies“! Easy, simple, reliable, not to say fantastic! Expensive tool, though, however if u love scuba and can afford such a unique hobby it’s worth every penny, imho!!!

Air Integration is the way!
I paired this with my MK3i and it does the job. I've checked against analog and it is accurate. I have 50-60 dives on it and battery is still good. Super easy 1 time setup and then forget it. 2 minor gripes, it doesnt always register immediately but I am still confident in it and it has never failed. Some people claim that they can hear the sonar chirp and I am one of them. At first this drove me crazy but now I dont even notice it.

Altamente preciso
Se elimino el sonido de la Mk2i. Alta resistencia y super facil de sincronizar.

Disappointed
The is supposed to be the new top of the line transmitter, but on my first dive trip after 3 days of diving it kept loosing connection “no coms”. Disappointing and retuned this item.
