Q: What percentage olive oil?

In these times more than ever, it is important to quell the urge to spread unchecked information glibly. I therefore hesitate to offer as unequivocal truth my answer to this question, uncertain as I am of my facts, and I hasten to divest myself of any claim to authority on this topic. I grant you that I have used soap on a daily basis (twice on a Saturday) for the duration of my adult life, and even dabbled as a child on such occasions as my mother saw fit to invigilate. Yet no reasonable onlooker would credit me with expert knowledge on that basis alone. To be clear: I have not performed any laboratory assay on the product in question, and indeed have no intention or wherewithal so to do. Neither have I visited the factory of its origin to interview the shift foreman under a bright light with the old jug of water, towel, and electrodes. Notwithstanding this, I can attest that the hefty ingot of soap is imprimed on one of its six faces with "72%" in large, bold type. Interpretations of this mark may vary, but I take it as a declaration of the olive oil content in the product, and I have scant reason to doubt it. You must satisfy yourself as to the degree of confidence you can ascribe to this evidence, and weigh that against your own needs.

I don’t know the number of ingredients that should or shouldn’t be included. This is a brilliant product anyways.

Q: Can this soap be melted to make it a liquid soap (for use in a foam pump perhaps) i.e. add water?

I melt the soap and add it to water, washing soda and borax, to make a laundry liquid. So yes you can melt and add it to water BUT, you will have to shake the container well, BEFORE every use. Hope that helps.
