Q: Do you have to have WiFi for the liter box to work?

Thanks for asking. Popur X5 works fine without WiFi or App. Our mobile app was developed by an outside team, and it has been pretty buggy since day one. It's the main reason that we dare not to advertise the app function. While our new app is under development in-house, we'll continue to do everything to make sure the existing app is at least functional. @thezookeeper, we are not able to identify you. Would you please kindly contact us so we can try our best to make the app work for you?

Q: When it dumps poop and acordian opens all of the way open....what is the "open" height ?

Q: What is the lining? It looks like cloth? How does this unit handle pee litter that clings to the bottom? How does it handle cats that scratch lining?

The liner is made of rugged material commonly used for outdoor activities. It withstands cat scratches but not deliberate piercing. Popur X5 can remove sticky clumps both passively and proactively. The liner is able to deform under gravity, forcing the sticky clumps to detach from the liner. If not, the filter, as it tilts, will scrape the liner and therefore proactively chips off the rest. In some cases, the front corners may accumulate stickiness that is difficult to remove, which indicates that there is insufficient cat litter left in the tray. We recommend using at least 8 kilos of cat litter in the tray. So long as you leave sufficient litter inside, your maintenance burden is minimized.

Q: During a clean cycle will it stop for a cat? Does it have a sensor on it?

Dear customer, when you turn on the Curious Cat function, the cleaning cycle will be stopped if a cat is found. And resume after 30-ish seconds if no further activities are detected. It's a newly added feature, particularly for cats who are quite curious or multi-cat families with one or two cats who can't wait for the cleaning cycle to complete. There is no risk of physically hurting your cats so by default, the cleaning cycle is designed to be unaffected by cats. But the more advanced ActiveShield feature enabled by Curious Cat adds an extra layer of comfort. To clarify, Popur X5 is equipped with motion sensor but doesn't really have any weight sensor onboard. Thanks for your attention. Please let us know if we could be of any further assistance.
