These are great bowls...
I've been looking for a set of stainless steel mixing bowls for a while but haven't had any luck because they either don't have a wide enough variety of sizes or they're a million dollars. This set solves both of those problems! They're clearly made in Japan and marked as 18/8 stainless. They've already seen a lot of use in my kitchen, from mixing to double boiling, and I'm extremely happy with them.

Beautiful and Functional
They’re durable enough for daily home kitchen use, I love being able to pull one of these out and just start going to work without having to worry about whether or not these will break unlike my old glass ones. Double boiling is a breeze, dishwasher safe, and still look gorgeous. Great set.

Can't believe this is the real deal
I've seen these bowls before, they look really nice. And they are sold for $217. Then I found this for $100 here on Amazon. Considering Amazon has good return policy, I just pulled the trigger.Happy to say this is the real deal. They look exactly the same like what my local store has.The only crappy thing is the stickers. On the 2 largest bowls, they have this sticker attached to them, and the glue is so bad. It will leave a lot of glue residue. So, that sucks. But other than that, everything else is great. You can easily remove the glue by just using paper towel and oil.Anyway, I'm glad with the purchase. Though one time I saw the price was $90 I believe, while I bought it at $100. Not a big deal, it's still better than $217.

Extremely high quality Made In Japan 18/8 stainless steel mixing bowl set
It's been driving me friggin’ crazy looking for mixing bowls that aren't cheap, made-in-China disposable garbage. I’m tired of buying trash made in China… or India… or Mexico. I'd thought I had finally found the set I was looking for a month or so back when I discovered the “Made in the USA” [by Vollrath] set, but was disappointed when it actually showed up. Very “thin” feeling, friggin' rough to the touch, and scuffed all over. Just didn’t feel high-quality, as I expected it would given the price (nearly a hundred bucks for the set). It just felt cheap. So, I kept looking, and it took me a long while. Anyone who searches for “Something that isn’t a cheap piece of Chinese garbage” knows how long it takes. I wanted a set that was made in my "Top 3" manufactures (all tied pretty much, no preference): USA/CANADA, Europe, or Japan. After a long while I finally found this. Made in Japan, so you know it’s a quality product. The feel is friggin' exquisite, you’re impressed just by holding it. Also to make sure the bowls are authentic [as of 2018, when I ordered mine] if you ordered from 3rd party sellers: Verify that that EACH (even the smallest bowl in the set) is marked: "Designed by Sori Yanagi”, and has the imprint you see in the pics.Again, these are the bowls I wish I’d found originally. It’s sad to see so many fundamental products being outsourced to China, India, and Mexico. I would happily pay a premium (even a steep one) for quality products made in the USA, Europe, or Japan. This… this is one of those products. Is it expensive? Yes: compared to alternatives manufactured with no standards, quality, or oversight. 3rd World garbage. Is it worth it? Yes.

Gorgeous bowl set
I love the style and matte finish on these bowls. I used one with a hand mixer and it did leave marks on the finish, so I'd say be careful with utensils if you wish to preserve the matte look. They are lightweight and just perfect for my needs.

Satisfied
The five-bowl set feels really good in hands. They have a “heavy” good quality weight feeling, at the same time sleek and light to handle. These are pricey preparation bowls compared with other stainless steel bowls. But it all about how you feel when using them.
