I don’t paint often with Himi but I find their brushes to be so easy to work with. These are a great value for the money and the pin point size is great for detail work. I use for acrylic watercolor and gouache. Great brush quality!

Great for fine detail work

These paint brushes were better than I had expected. The design is consistent with the photos. They are also quite durable and appear to be well-made. I have used them on canvas with acrylic paint and have been pleased with the quality and results. I can't determine why they are advertised for face and body painting more-so than painting on paper or canvas as they do work quite well on canvas. These brushes were also packaged quite well and look nice from a presentation perspective. This set would make a good gift for someone who enjoys painting. I will return as-needed to purchase additional brushes. I would definitely recommend these paint brushes. I hope this was helpful!

These brushes are pretty stiff. They don't work well for watercolor but I imagine would work far better with thicker, more viscous paints like oil or acrylic. Because of the microplastics, I am gradually moving away from acrylics but I think these will be great for the HIMI gouache paints. The stiffness gives EXCELLENT control for details, but it DIGS into my watercolor paints. They don't hold a lot of water either so these are less than ideal for that purpose.

Factoring in the price and intended target, I think this is a pretty great set. The construction on the brushes is really sturdy, feels durable. I've had no issues with shedding. I wanted some finer brushes for miniature painting, so far it works great for this.The brushes are on the smaller side (not SMALL but not towering like my watercolor sets) so I think they'd be appropriate for/kid friendly. The plastic is easy to clean up. The ferule isn't clamped and looks definitely more on the budget side so it's hard to say how long it'll last. I think I anticipate if these fail it'll probably be the ferule separating from the handle (based on construction appearance) but it looks like one that'd glue back together pretty well.Overall not a bad detail set.

You can never have too many tiny detail brushes. I just tried these out for touching up the paint on some fake berries and they were perfect, the right level of pliant yet stiff enough that I could manage some lovely little sweeps and curls.They also seem to wash up easily with warm water and bronners soap. I am sure I should use a more professional product for washing these, but I've always had good luck with gentle soap and water.The smallest of these detail brushes is still a little bigger than the fine detail brushes I need for painting a miniature, but just by a smidge.The handles are nice too, the paint slid right off which is fabulous, I am a messy painter and I usually end with paint on the handles.
