This mat is more convenient to use than a standard ironing board. Doesn't take up much storage space and I feel like I am saving a lot of time ironing my clothes. I will say that if you steam iron, the underside of the mat gets damp so be careful if you use it on a wooden surface.

I originally purchased it for those times when I'm in a hurry to get out and need to iron something quickly. However, I find myself using it even when I'm not in a hurry. It's so much easier than pulling out the big ironing board. I also like the zippered storage bag that came with it. It's a heavier plastic than a typical zippered bag. It keeps it clean when I'm not using it and makes it easy to store. The silicone iron mat that came with it is very handy as well, even though I don't use it for the iron. I use it as a trivet for small pots and as a potholder. It would also protect the counter from a curling iron or a hot glue gun, so there are plenty of uses for it if, like me, you never lay your iron flat.Overall, I'm very happy with it. I only gave it four stars because I do have one complaint: I wish it was thicker because the back of it gets a little warm when ironing. I usually put a towel or folded sheet underneath it anyway, so it's not a big problem, but a thicker mat would be nice. :)

Used it as a work surface on my kitchen table while sewing masks. So far so good. Used it quilted side down, but I'm sure you can flip it however you wish. Not sure if it'll leave marks on your more delicate fabrics though. Didn't want to purchase an ironing board (no space and would use so rarely) so this is the next best thing. This little pad is ideal for small pressing issues. I can handle this easily without dragging out my entire huge ironing board. This even came with a silicone iron rest. It was all packaged neatly in a reusable bag for storage or travel. One side of the mat is quilted, the other side is smooth. I have not had any issues with heat coming through, but I've only used for quickly pressing in my sewing room. I use it on my wood layout table with one of my really big cutting mats under it and there's been no heat transfer through the ironing mat.I don't know why I didn't try this idea ages ago. Buying a little iron will be even better, but my full sized iron that I love works just as easily. Great purchase and I will get lots of use out of it.

The ironing mat fits perfectly on my table, which is 60”x80”. I pressed a quilt top and was easily able to avoid the few inches of exposed wood. The mat arrives folded, with lots of wrinkles. Just ironing the quilt got rid of all of that and didn’t cause creases on the quilt. The price was reasonable and it arrived very quickly.

This ironing mat works fine for my counter top ironing for sewing. An improvement that could be made by the manufacturer is to roll the mat for shipping rather than fold it and put it in a bag. The mat arrived with 6 massive creases that I had to spend 30 minutes to iron out of the mat before I could begin my own fabric ironing. Otherwise a good product for the price. Didn't need the silicon iron pad. No review for that item.

This Medium sized ironing mat is just what I was seeking. It is good quality, as thick as I expected. I live in a small space & the only items I generally iron are pillow cases, kitchen towels, napkins … small items. The heat from my hot iron did not transfer through to my surface, but I placed a towel under just in case. Easy to roll up for storage.
