🚀 Elevate Your Storage Game!
The Chenyang M.2 2230 to 2242 Extension Adapter is a specialized PCB card designed to extend your SSD from a 2230 socket to a 2242 format. It supports both NVME and SATA connections, making it compatible with a range of ThinkPad models, including the X270, X280, T470, T480, L480, and T580 series. Please note that this adapter does not convert NVME to SATA or vice versa, and the SSD is not included.

Perfect M.2 extension
This works perfectly for my needs! I've seen no speed difference or transfer errors at all. I installed this in the M.2 slot on the back of my motherboard so I wouldn't have to dismantle so much of my machine in the future. Only thing I had to was cad a bracket, 3d print it and install. Great product! Would definitely buy again if needed.

Working well in T480
Works in T480, but make sure you're using a Gen3 NVME drive. Gen4 does not seem to work.

Works great
Removed a plastic peg and now its been running in my legion go for a few months with no noticeable change other than I can put full size NVME drives in it now. Works fine for me I also kept hold heat sink sticker and just peeled it back and re stuck it to new NVME drive that's plugged into this thing. Hope this review helps.

Easy to install, working well for over 2 months
I bought this to upgrade the SSD in my ROG ally. I was nervous because there weren't many reviews at the time, but this works great. I've been using my ally /a ton/ especially while traveling over the holidays and it's been working fine. No overheating with the bigger NVME or anything. I got the Samsung 990 Pro on a black Friday deal and this is what I used to install it. I didn't use my ally at all before installing the new SSD, so I can't speak to how big the improvement feels, but it was easy to do the cloud restore and this thing made it really easy to install. I did buy a copped heatsink but it make it too thick, so I got the silicon sticker one instead and that worked great

Does what it needs to, until it fails
Works great in my ROG Ally so far, quality seems as expected, good price. Device working flawlessly after a few days. If anything changes, will update.Update 2 months later 6/3/25(bought 3/24/25), barely any use (used the rog ally like 3 times) and the adapter is dead. Tested the SSD elsewhere and it worked perfectly fine. Perfect time to die too, was on a trip, thought maybe the SSD got loose, bought a cheap mini toolkit, opened up and ally and reseated the adapter and SSD and nothing. :(

Just plug and play, worked great for me
Wanted to use this extender for my 2230 512GB ssd that I had laying around. I personally had no issues with fitment or performance also pretty straight forward design 5 outta 5 stars from me!

Dodgy cable quality (my cable came with a scratch over the contacts) - as expected of the price.Worked fine with an SK Hynix testing SSD but did not work at all with Samsung PM983 drives.
