I bought these because I occasionally had difficulties with standard toenail clippers and had twice in the last few months wasted money at chiropodists. The product arrived with sturdy storage box and the two little extra tools indicated - nice quality. I normally cut my nails sitting on a low stool with feet on the floor. Having drawn blood twice from the point on the clippers, it became obvious that this was not going to be easy. Getting the angles right and being able to see properly is not as easy as with standard clippers. I accept that being a little clumsy (and over 70 !!) this would not have been the fault of the product. So, in conclusion, I would say that if your are physically flexible and can get your foot up high and close to your line of vision, you will find these very practical. However, I'm sorry to admit that getting someone else to do it would produce the best results !!

These are great. Bought these to do my mother's toenails as normal toenail clippers are not good enough and don't open wide enough as she has very thick toenails. These cut through them really well. Definately recommend them. Really nice to use

If you have hard, brittle, diffult to trim toenails, these are what you need.My 78 ye old mother has ingrown nails, that are very thick..ordinary clippers will not go through them at all and they had grown so long,they were uncomfortable and causing pain.I found these, and thought they were worth a try....So glad I did...they cut through her nails without any real effort, they were easy to hold and didn't cause her any discomfort or pain. These are brilliant..Be careful though as they are really sharp.

I have only recently bought these clippers and so I have limited advice to give. I would say that cutting your own toenails with these could lead you to causing damage by way of blood drawing cuts. These clippers are very very sharp especially at the points and I would say that a very steady hand is needed if you are not going to stick these into the surrounding skin. Although I cannot fault the quality of these clippers I could not recommend them to elderly people who have no one on hand to do the job for them. One other consideration is that these clippers are said to be for ingrowing toenails and everything I have read states that these nails should be cut straight across but this tool is curved making it hard to achieve a straight cut but perhaps this is more a case of using the right technique that I have not mastered yet..

As the title suggests, I rarely take the time to write product reviews (yes, I know! but on this occasion I feel this product deserves it.This is a really good purchase. Quality of clippers and other instruments is very high allowing precision and care. None of us particularly want to talk about toenails but they need looking after. When using these products, the inferiority of standard clippers becomes apparent very quickly. These are precise, excellent quality and as such, make the task much. much easier. The clippers also come with a durable safety sleeve on the sharp end for safety. Feels like surgical quality and even come in a nice box. Highly recommended.

Hubby has had a problem with an ingrowing toenail for several years, this is the second set we have brought to deal with it, I found as follows: The clippers are good but not as good as ones with the bits between the handles (dont know what they are called) the tools however are AMAZING delicate enough to get under the ingrown bit and lever it out (yes it hurt him like mad!) and the files are great too these tools make the set a worthwhile purchase and to be honest the clippers are probably fine on the nails of someone who hasnt had his foot run over by a tank! Top tip, use Pile cream with ligno/lidocaine in it to numb the toe a bit before surgery! happy clipping!

Having thick and curved toenails, it was difficult to clip my nails and they would grow long and unmanageable. After going to a chiropodist, he suggested buying these clippers. I took a chance and bought these, not knowing if they would work on my super thick nails. Oh my god, when I used these it was like cutting through butter with a hot knife. I'm so glad I bought them, I wish I had done so years ago.
