WORTH IT.. Different is better
I am so glad I did not listen to the negative reviews and bought this for my son. He was 1 year old and it became an instant favorite by 18 months (very verbal child) he could recognize the sounds of instruments on the radio and call out their names when we saw live music. He did not care that the kids on the show ere really not playing. This video exposed him to instruments that we could not on a daily basis. He is 3 and he still likes it. He calls it the baby DVD but he still loves the music and pretending to play alowng with them. This is not an instructive video it is exposesure. Yes there is less puppets which is teh favorite for other titles. My son did not miss them... he loved seeing the instruments and hearing the sounds. This one is different and worth it. He was a music lover at a young age and this encouraged it and was exposure. We also take him to live music. Buy this video if your child loves Einstein and music. It is a different way of learning and exposing. My 2nd son is now starting to watch it too.

Great movie to introduce orchestra sections. Appropriate for wide age range
We rented this many times from the library before I broke down and bought it here. My 5 yo still loves to watch it. The music selection is great and I love how they cover the different instrument sections in an orchestra, which dovetails well with our orchestra component in our homeschool curriculum. Baby Einstein's style of varying the instrument introduction between real instruments and toy instruments, animated and real is so interesting and apparently keeps my 1yo, 3yo and 5yo interested. I love how the same classical pieces are featured for different sections and how they feature those instruments.

Baby Einsteins Meet the Orchestra
Meet the Orchestra made by Baby Einstein is good. It took the children a little while to get into it; ages 4 and 1 1/2...who love Baby Noah and get really excited to watch that. It tends toward not as 'child-friendly' as some of the other productions. I've also have seen better years ago that my children watched but can't seem to find it, so this one is not on the top of the list for Baby Einstein productions.

Taught my son so much about instruments
This is one of my sons favorites. Anyone who says Baby Einstein doesn't actually make kids smarter doesn't know what they're talking about because my little guy has learned so much from this DVD. He now knows violin, trumpet, tuba, drums and a few others and the sounds that they make. He will now point them out when he hears them in songs on the radio. I'm glad we purchased this DVD and so is my little guy.

This one is a WINNER!
I am an early childhood music educator. Children LOVE this! I do too! I use it as a reinforcement after introducing the instrument families. They know their instruments after we are done with this amazing educational tool. There is a perfect combination of information sharing and entertainment, hooking the young child completely. They laugh. They drop their jaws. They learn. They have fun. As well, I have had older kids hanging at my door to watch!

Educational and fun
My daughter learned many instruments and what they sound like from this video. Neither my husband nor I have played any instrument since high school, so this was a great introduction for her. Watching the movie, she became interested enough to ask for several of her own instruments, and I hope this interest continues. She loves making music!

Good buy!
Bought this for my son. Been playing it for him since he was born. The DVD has a repeat option, helps to keep my baby occupied listening to classical music while being entertained with informative video until he gets hungry or sleepy. He's now 2 yrs. old & still enjoys watching the DVD while he plays around.
