We bought this gate to keep a cat out of an area. It is very durable, has a fine finish, and was easy to install in a manner, but not only made it work well but was pleasant to look at. This is a great Gate, oh I forgot it’s easy to get through.

Great purchase

There’s a screw that kept coming out and I had to get my dad to rig it for me, and now it works great. It’s easy to open and close but not for the littles, and it swings both ways

This gate is being used as more of a visual barrier for my doberman.Even though it is tall, he could probably jump right over it standing still, if he wanted too, being the jumper that he is. If your dog is not a jumper, it should work very well, as long as you have a very good tight-fit in the doorway you plan to use. Making sure it lines up so it closes/latches properly.It seems to be very sturdy, made of decent quality metal. It doesn't feel flimsy at all. I don't think my dog can bust through it, but then again, I don't want to have to test that theory. He only weighs about 100 lbs., so far, it's holding up. A bigger, heavy dog might be able to hulk their way through it, but again, I cannot say, for sure as this has not been tested.I like the look of this gate. It is very nice and sleek, and NOT gaudy looking at all (in my opinion).I cannot speak about using this for a child, as this was not my intended use, but I believe this should work unless your child climbs or is just very curious; they might be able to figure out the latch system, but not so much the dogs.I would definitely buy this again.

We bought this to keep an agile, rambunctious tom-kitten out of our upstairs rooms, and as soon as we unboxed it, we knew it would be a nice addition to our home. I was a little apprehensive, because it came with some intimidating hardware for mounting. No worries, though - it took me just over 20 minutes to install, and then the best feature revealed itself. When opened more than slightly (as you would to walk through), the gate shuts itself securely behind you! Further, it opens to either side. This is the best of three cat-gates we've had in our homes, by far. Although I'm not sure our latest kitty, Titus, would agree. He spent an hour last night curled up on the far side of the newly-installed gate after we went to sleep peacefully, cat-free.

I got this to keep dogs out of the upstairs (carpeted) area of the house. It functions well, and I like the height of the gate, as well as the two different width extenders to allow you to find a good match in a variety of spaces. However, the first gate I received broke almost immediately. A bit hard to explain, but the sliding portion of the upper latch is kept in place by two small pieces of plastic internally. One of those broke almost instantly, and the entirely mechanism fell apart. The replacement has held up (so far). If it can survive daily use for next few months, I'll give the benefit of the doubt that the first one was just slightly defective and upgrade this another star.

It was super easy to install and the perfect height. CAT PROOF. We are using it to separate cats and no one has been able to jump it or squeeze through the openings. The door is easy to open with one hand and it automatically closes. It opens swinging both ways which is convenient!
