Netgear Power Supply Unit for Ready NAS NV and NV+

When my ReadyNas suddenly decided that it wasn't going to boot anymore, this was the difference between losing years of business data and being back online. A great shame that after so much effort to ensure your data is safe (using RAID etc) Netgear then went and threw it all away by using a fault power supply.It was reasonably easy to fit, being pretty much an exact replacement for the original. The only reason I wouldn't give this five stars is that the fan vents onto a solid back plate and it was necessary to drill holes in the back plate to ensure decent ventilation. Not the end of the world but it would have been very easy to vent differently or supply an alternative back plate for a few pounds more.

This replacement PSU is specifically for the ReadyNAS NV and NV+ series. It's a perfect fit; obviously some tooling is required, both with screws and two small nuts. Cabling is a perfect match to these ReadyNAS series: exactly the right length and with just a single connector. No superfluous cabling that needs to be tugged away.One gripe: the picture accompanying this product is not representative of the delivered product. You will only get the replacement PSU with cabling, not the tray and dust screen as depicted. It's not a real biggie, as you will already have a tray and the dust screen is not required in the new setup. But still the supplier could have been more thoughtful on this; it's explained in the item description, but I only got that after completing the purchase order.

I bought this as a replacement power supply after the original one in my ReadyNAS died after 9 years usage. It took about 30 minutes to swap out and worked perfectly. I am a happy bunny now as I have access to all my data again without resorting to my backups.

Perfect power supply unit replacement for our NETGEAR ReadyNAS NVXFollowing a power loss issue, the former PSU failed and the NAS wouldn't power up. Bought this one, it took 1 week to arrive in France, now the NAS is working like a charm.I had to hack the back of the NAS, I made few holes for the FAN to blow out the air from the PSU, quick and dirty but it works fine.Nota : the plate under the PSU is not bundled in, you'll have to unscrew the former one.

Great replacement PSU. Got my NV+ back up and running after the original supply went pop. Air vents are in a slightly different position from the original though.

Worked fine, but had to mod the chassis to ensure the fan got a good air flow. The original was not cooled as well so well worth it.

Good fit, easy install. Works well. No problems.

Power Supply arrived in a couple of days. Thank goodness Netgear has very good installation instructions online with pictures as there was no documentation included wiht the power supply itself.
