I'm absolutely thrilled with these, having used them for a while now for everything from daily commutes to long work sessions and unwinding, I can confidently say they live up to the hype and more. I wanted to wait at least 3 months before I wrote this review to be able to give an honest review and not just a “Ooh, look what I’ve got they’re lovely”.You need to download the Sony Sound Connect and pair your headphones to the app.The headphones come in quite a nice case, with a charging lead and a 3.5mm lead for hard wired connection (I use this for my laptop).First off, the fit is perfect and even after several hours use they are still comfortable and they do not get hot and sweaty like some other headphones I’ve owned.Secondly the noise cancelling is excellent and this can be adjusted for different environments, sometimes I wear them in the office with no music just the noise cancelling on - lovely.Thirdly the sound is excellent and again this can be tweaked endlessly, the headphones come with presets or you can tweak the equaliser until your heart is content.That’s all the pros covered now some of the annoying things:-1. When removing your headphones and placing them down, the music will pause (this is good) and when you put your headphones back on the music will restart, however sometimes many different things can happen herea) The volume is much reduced and cannot be recovered unless you switch off the ‘phones and reconnect.b) The volume has increased to almost maximum almost to the point of painful, but for this you only need to lower the volume not switch off and restart.c) Sometimes the ‘phones have disconnected completely requiring you to go into Settings/Bluetooth and reconnecting.2. A simple cough or noise may pause the music.For these two points I haven’t found the answer yet, the music volume issue is recognised by Sony in their literature as they mention “reconnecting” if this happens.All in all some very good headphones let down by some annoying niggles.

I am absolutely blown away how good these headphones are. I have never listened to a set headphones as good as these. There is a crispness of sound I have never experienced before combined with tight deep bass. I wore them recently on a flight to and from Turkey, a four hour trip both ways. The noise cancelling completely cut out the aircraft noise on take off and during the flight. Its uncanny how well this works. I also love the stop to speak function on these headphone. On the plane if I was spoken to I could not hear my wife or attendant, but as soon as I started talking the music stopped and I could hear clearly and have a conversation. When I stopped talking 10 seconds later the music resumed. This function also kicks in when you Cup your ears. Three years ago I bought an earlier version of these headphones but could not get on with them as they made my ears to hot. I am pleased to report the latest design has resolved this problem making them very comfortable on a four hour flight or an evenings listening. By the way I also tested competative headphone from Sennheiser & Bose these headphone stood out with their sound quality. If you are prepared to make the investment you won't regret it, these headphones are a joy to use.

The sony wh 1000 xm5 are great I've had them for a couple of weeks and thier noise canceling is absolutely awesome. Thier sound is acceptable maybe a bit bloated on the bass but for someone on the move they're great.
