Product Description Tregothnan tea is a unique product from the United Kingdom’s first tea Garden- 'putting the English into English Tea'. We were the first to grow the tea genus here in the UK over 200 years ago but only perfected the art of tea production in recent years. The search for the perfect tea was intensified when it was proven that high quality tea does grow exceptionally well at Tregothnan, in Cornwall. Over the last 10 years tea has been grown here on the historic estate at Tregothnan located just outside of Truro in Cornwall. The estate has been here since 1335 and is also the largest private botanical garden in Cornwall. There are currently fourteen teas in the collection, four black teas & ten herbal infusions and our teas are now served and sold at a select number of establishments throughout the UK including Claridges and Fortnum & Mason’s in London. England in a cup! Our unique Classic Tea is a consistent and satisfying blend which boasts quality as well as Britishness. In 1999, it was settled that the finest Assam tea would be imported to compliment Tregothnan’s orginal China-type leaves, and to create the most authentic breakfast blend ever. Exclusive and hand-plucked, our Classic Tea is not a novelty – it is a blend for serious tea drinkers. Simply delicious with a bold and full-bodied flavour, this charming tea has a hefty following of celebrity fans including Carol Thatcher and Jodie Kidd. As Bernard-Paul Heroux put it so perfectly, “There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a nice cup of tea.” Box Contains Each order comes with 1 x Tregothnan Classic Tea 25 Pyramids

Nice but pricey
I bought Tregothnan tea a couple of years ago as I was interested to try 'British' tea. It was disappointing. Fast forward a couple of years and I bought some more as part of a charity pack and it was much improved. I decided to try this as a) I'd enjoyed the more recent purchase and b) I needed a tin of about this size. Possibly not the best reason but not the worst I've ever come up with. The tea is very nice but as the other reviews mention its not entirely 100% British tea and you need to let it brew for longer than usual. Being generous I'd put that down to the large sized tea leaves. So 4 stars for the flavour and 2 stars for value for money (regardless of how useful the tin is). This is an expensive way to buy tea regardless of the taste.

Tregothnan Classic Tea - didn't quite come up to expectations
I first had some Cornish tea in my local Lussmans restaurant and thought it was lovely, but unfortunately this variety didn't quite meet my expectations on taste. It is also very expensive, even though they claim you can re-use the bags, something which doesn't somehow seem quite right for premium tea. However, very nicely packaged and the tin will prove useful after the tea is finished.

Good but expensive tea!
I was so excited to try this tea as its grown in Cornwall which makes it unique. The tea arrives in this nice tin with 25 pyramid fabric bags. My first taste was ok but this tea really needs to sit for quite a while or you risk a very weak drink. If you can keep the pot warm then It does need up to 10 minutes for the flavours to develop and then its a very good and fresh tasting tea. My rating is only 3 stars as this purchase is very expensive. I was charged £6.01p for P and P. and £8.35 for the tea bringing the total to £14.36 for 25 tea bags which seems excessive. I'm glad I have tried it but I couldn't afford to regularly and you need the time to brew a decent cup of tea. A bit disappointed with my purchase.

Proper Job
The best tea ever! Living in Cornwall I was hoping there would be some "local's discount" but unfortunately not. It's a shame that this isn't available in many places but then that is probably good for my health otherwise I wouldn't drink anything else. This is lovely to have as a treat every now and then and very hard to stop from having just the one cup.Absolutely love this!

Supurb flavour.
The flavour of this Cornish tea is just perfect - far better than any Indian or Chinese tea. Just a pity that they use such expensive packaging i.e. silk bags in a tin. Would be the same great taste using normal bags in a box but much cheaper.

Great Tea
What a novelty, Tea grown in this country!!, I have to say it was bought as just that, a novelty, but it is a darn good tea! I shall be buying again, maybe only for those times when something a little special is required, roll on those lazy afternoons in the garden!!
