Works great for the price
Love this dock. Fits an SSD to expand the storage on my Steam Deck

JSAUX is quality
Adding memory just got easier for my docked experience. Quality is good. Came with 90 degree adapter as a bonus. Works with protective covers/case. Great if not essential purchase for a Steam Deck or other new handheld gaming device or phone.

Working great
I was using an Ivoler-brand docking station with my original Steam Deck, with an external USB M.2 drive for booting it to Windows. Unfortunately the HDMI port on it didn't like the new OLED Deck when running with Steam OS. It worked fine for Windows, but the screen always stayed blank for Steam OS, and I wanted it to work with either OS, so I thought I'd give this JSAUX dock a shot. I can happily report that this one works great with both Steam OS and Windows, and having the M.2 slot integrated is great. It'd be nice if the RJ45 was on the back, but that's definitely not a deal-breaker.

It's solid and works great with the Steam Deck
I’ve been using the JSAUX M.2 Docking Station for a few months, and overall, it's solid! It compliments the functionality of my Steam Deck very well. The HDMI output is fantastic—super crisp 4K at 60Hz, and it pairs perfectly with my external monitor for gaming. The gigabit Ethernet port is excellent for maintaining a stable connection, especially for downloads. The M.2 SSD slot is probably my favorite feature. I previously used a JSAux dock without this feature and it was worth the upgrade. Setting it up was straightforward, and it’s been great having the extra storage without sacrificing portability. Transfer speeds are decent too—definitely a step up from using external drives. The dock itself feels sturdy, and I like that it doubles as a stand. That said, I did notice it sits a bit high, which can partially block the vents on the Steam Deck. Not a dealbreaker, and I simply offset how I set the deck in the doc to help ensure maximum airflow, but something to be mindful of, especially during longer gaming sessions. All in all, it’s a great dock with just a couple of minor quirks. If you’re looking to level up your Steam Deck setup, this is definitely worth considering!

Best Steam Dock
If you want to have windows running on Deck but you don't want to mess with dual boot or reinstall Steam OS, this is your answer. I took a nvme drive with windows installed from an old PC, set the boot sequence in Deck bios and BAM! I have a windows running desktop pc every time the Deck powers up in docking mode. I'm getting 942 MB/s Read and 868 MB/s Write, which is faster than SD card. The dock gets hot to the touch but the temperature of nvme drive never gets over 55C, it's been working flawlessly so far.

Not Detecting 30W Power Mode
Two stars because it detects NVMe, mouse and my HDMI monitor.I tried the manufacturer instructions to update the firmware, I followed youtube videos as well, but I could not get this dock station to charge my ROG Ally and detect 30W mode.I understood that I needed to purchase a 100W to power it, which I did, 2 different power adapters. When I plug it in, it detects my monitor, mouse, and NVMe drive, I see that my ROG Ally is charging, but it does not “detect” a charge and stays in “Battery” mode.To clarify, when I plug the 2 power adapters and the one the dock came with, straight to my ROG Ally, I get immediate 30W power mode. The dock is the problem.

It's good as an alterative.
I think my biggest gripe about this is that the SDD transfer rate is slow. I installed the SDD into the dock, it works but if you're trying to use it for media, the transfer rate for media is slow. Everything else works as designed though. I mainly use this as my traveling dock. |But if you're trying to use this to play media from either usb or SDD then I'd say get an adapter for data and power passthrough for better results.

Finally
I've gone through multiple docks from generic mfg, to steam deck's official dock, and the sabrent dock.I knew I should have started w/ Jsaux's m.2 dock. I had the original plain dock and it still works flawlessly. This one is no different. Read/write speeds were up to 3.6 gb/s w/ no slowdown. Dock was compatible w/ the max refresh rate on my monitor. Windows on Deck automounts out of the box (I have windows on the internal deck ssd). Simply put it just worksHere are my struggles w/ the other docks:Steam Deck Dock-Wouldn't recognize my screen-Had trouble running games on windows w/ external displaySabrent (I tried two and had the same issues)-Max refresh rate 75 hz-Frequent usb c port, external ssd disconnection-Write speed would go up and down (0 to 2gbs for no reason during entire write)-caused file corruption from frequent disconnectionThis was w/ multiple power sources (45w, 65w, 100w)Generic Dock-Bricked my m.2 ssd, like hardcore. I thought I would have RMA it but after scouring reddit pages and multiple days of Linux and windows refreshing I got it back to life (and learned some linux...um thank you?)Even though this dock only has 2 usb ports, no displayport, and no manual power switch it is still the best on market today.Save your sanity and look nowhere else.Update:I had concerns about heat mentioned in previous reviews. I would like to report even w/ high transfer speeds the dock performs at least the same or better as other docks (as far as heat goes). Also this thing turns off almost completely when the deck is not on. No visible power going to the usb devices, m.2, or ethernet (which all other docks continued to power after deck power off).I don't know if they made any changes since those reviews but it has exceeded my expectations.
