My Son had a Wii when he was younger and loved it, but eventually lost interest as he got older. Now that he is grown and married, he longs for the nostalgia (and the possibility of playing it with his own children at some point).So we found a refurb Wii as a presen for them, but neither our HDTV, nor his, support composite video or S-Video inputs, just HDMI. This product does the trick nicely. Not only is it inexpensive, but it is simply plug-and-play--no adjustments or settings necessary for excellent picture and sound quality.image quality is excellent given the SD (progressive) video input, and the upscaling looks great. No it doesn't (nor could the Wii ever) look HD, but it doesn't look at all like badly upscaled SD--it simply looks like a bigger SD picture, without the softness/blurriness or pixelation jaggies common to poor upscaling. I'm not sure it could be any better...

I'd rate this 10 stars if I could. We lost a cord for our old A/V to hdmi unit. Struggled to find a replacement cord and just decided to go with this instead. Now instead of having 3 cords to deal with it's just the 1 hdmi cord! Sure it's light and does feel cheap but if you're not moving your wii constantly it shouldn't be a problem at all. Once it's plugged into the wii there's no wiggle or play. Solid piece, Get one.

So far so good, no issues and seems like a quality product for the price. I've had a Wii plugged in to our living room TV for ages, but I never use it any more. So I decided to transplant it to my son's room so it can be used and appreciated again, but his Amazon TV only has HDMI ports, so a device like this was needed. Decent packaging, actually included an HDMI cable(a rather short one), and has worked as advertised. For anyone who has a Wii and needs to plug it in to an HDMI port, this device has you covered.

Worked perfectly. HDMI to my AMP and from there into 85" Samsung TV. Was amazing to see that the quality was very acceptable to play the old WII games again.

Simple fix to my TV not having component cables. Works as described with no issues as of now.
