8-year-old *loved* it
I recently bought this, along with the LEGO Toy Story 7592 Construct-a-Buzz for my son's 8th birthday. Of the two, this is the quicker and easier to complete - we built him at quite a leisurely pace within an hour. Kids might need a bit of help working out how to fit Zurg's cape on for him as it's not absolutely clear, but the rest of the project is very straightforward - the pictorial instructions have no words, and are very clear. I simply supervised and pointed out what goes where in the pictures, and my son did all the putting together.Design-wise, Zurg looks a bit odd I think. He's a pillar with two arms and a head - he suffers from the problems as Daleks do when stairs need to be tackled, I fear. This visual design makes him look quite unlike a Lego toy, I think - there's not much of that 'low res' chunky charm that I expected, and some of the construction seemed to be simply for the sake of it rather than out of necessity. But it's a very rewarding project for someone who is new to Lego - easy to make, and the results are pleasing. The only difficult part for a child might be pushing a couple of bits into place, as they require a certain amount of strength.Zurg has a big laser that he holds in one hand, which has 3 balls that can be fired (very weakly, but well enough). I expect these will get lost fairly quickly.I'd recommend getting Buzz too, if you can afford it; my previous experience with Lego was that it was quite over-priced for what you end up with, but I was pleasantly surprised by these two. They'll be played with for a long time once they're made.

Very happy son
Great piece of Lego for any Toy Story fan. Lego is always good quality so a very very happy son.

VERY easily broken
Very flimsy materials indeed. My son has wanted a Zurg for months and months and, surprisingly, Disney do not do regular Zurg toys in the large scale style of Buzz, Woody and the rest of the gang. For some reason they only do Zurg in 8 inch, which is tiny in comparison to the 15 inch other toys.We were recommended a Lego Zurg as the only alternative here, and we got one and were sure excited to put it together. In fact putting it together is a good piece of fun especially if you are doing it with your kid, the excitement in his face as he could see his favourite villain taking shape was GREAT to watch as a Dad.Then we finished and he went to try firing the gun only to notice that the top half of the body was unstable as anything and just pulled right off in his hand. I also tried it, thinking he had just grabbed it too hard, and sure enough he broke in two again. It's almost as if the top half is way to heavy for the bottom half to handle and it just flops around unattached, there should be a way more sturdy base connection between the two halves rather than a tiny piece of lego which falls off as soon as any pressure of movement is applied. My kid couldn't play with it without getting upset every time he 'broke it' and I had to explain it's the toy itself not him doing it, and I guess we will have to go with one of those 8 inch regular Disney toys instead. As a parent I'd say this is fun to assemble, but that's it. You will be constantly re-assembling it thereafter because it will break every single time it is used. I'd advise others to completely avoid it.

Great present for Toy Story / Lego fans
Bought this for my 9 year old son for Christmas. He loves Lego and his little brother (aged 3) loves Toy Story so it was a bit of a joint success really. Usual problem with Lego that we find though is that it falls apart easily so have to be careful when playing with it but that's just the nature of Lego I guess. When all made up properly though it looks great sitting up on his shelf.

Bon produit Lego, je ne suis pas très objective car nous adorons ces produits.Facile de montage, mais il faut quand même aider un peu l'enfant.
