I got this for a recording device that uses micro sd cards. I have to use it quite often and felt like constantly plugging it into a computer was messing up the connection. So I got this to just use with the sd card and it works well. It downloads about twice as fast as just the cable connection to the computer and have had no issues. I’ve used it about 10 times so far.

Works well, I've used it on both SD cards and micro SD cards and it's worked perfectly. I've used cards up to 128GBs with no problem reading and writing to the whole card. The speed varies depending on the speed and features of the individual card being used. It does use a USB 3 interface allowing speeds up to 5Gbps, but the best I've gotten is about 100MBps (which is a bit over 800Mbps). It has worked well for my use-case which is music storage and reading my security camera's card.
