However, despite being made out of metal (appears to be cast iron) there is no earthing at all.I managed to add an earth as the various sections of this a screwed together and it is possible to disassemble it and feed in a wire for earth. I joined this to the back of the red valve and it provides and earth for the entire body of the lamp.Other than the lack of earth protection I am happy with it.

As the image shows, when used with a Edison bulb its a perfect lamp for the mornings. Fir the price you can't go wrong.

I got this for my husband for our copper wedding anniversary. It may not actually be copper but it is a sturdy lamp made of real wood and metal, it looks great and he loves it(although being an electrical engineer he immediately installed a dimmer switch.) It felt like it was worth the money to me and I'm a bit confused by other reviews saying it wasn't. It's solid, well made, and has a steampunk feel. I was a little sad that the bulb wasn't included but I did get one on next day delivery and hubby didn't mind waiting! I only gave this 3 stars for warmth because the warmth comes from the bulb!

Looks nice, bulb not included so can only give 1 star for that, value for money 3 because the dial to turn on or off rotates 360 degrees and concerned will break so dont use it. Turn it on and off at switch. On the positive it is a nice feature but probably over priced.

I think the advert for this item is seriously misleadingThere is absolutely no indication that the light bulb shown is not includedIt also strangely has two on/off switched and one by the holderFor a while I thought it was faulty .I have given 1 star for brightness as without a bulb it was not very bright nor good value

Industrial style lamp, solid, looks amazing.

Turned my hand black as it blew up when I went to turn it on. I've ordered 3 steampunk lights in the past 3 years and EVERY one of them have blown up (we've even moved house in this time and its not the wiring in the house - checked by an engineer). NONE of these should be approved for sale. They are made shoddy yet cost quite a bit to buy. BEWARE - its only a matter of time before these lamps burn someones house down.

This is a great, stylish little lamp.While this has little to do with the lamp itself, the suggested light bulbs aren't good to work by or read by at night (which was what I purchased it for). Any other would compromise the aesthetic, so bear in mind.
