Oh, This Is A Gem!
This is far and away the best of the Fix Yourself books. I've been up all night, unwilling to stop writing in it. In pencil, ink, and some large and profane words in black Magic Marker. Unlike the "lists" books that give some insight but never really change anything, Cheaper Than Therapy gives you things to actually think about (and take with you to your in-person therapist). At the very least, it reaffirms what you already know, and for me, that's huge. And yes, you will have "Ahah!" moments while playing with this book. But fair warning: You'll probably need a second copy because if you get as wound up with the first copy as I did, you'll want to trade in the Magic Marker for something slightly more tame for the second time around. In short, despite (and partially because of) the humor in this book, you'll really get pi**ed off. Probably at yourself. BTW, I'm sixty-eight and have been in and out of therapy since i was twelve. This book really is Cheaper Than Therapy, and if you beat it up it doesn't sue you.

This book is hilarious and useful. It's a whimsical self-guided therapy journal, you can be as sarcastic or authentic as you would like without someone raking in $100+ an hour telling you how to think or feel. I find it to be a nice way to end each day, a little self-reflection goes a long way in personal improvement. I would not recommend this book for anyone who wants a stodgy self-help book, but would highly recommend it for people who can laugh at themselves and learn a few things along the way.

Will help straighten out your negative self talk.
A fun, adorable journal to kick you out of your "blues". Laughter is the best medicine!

very happy!! (:
Usually when I buy some journal with prompts to write in I don't write in very much of them but this one had amazing questions that I filled out at least a quarter through the book so far!! So I'm happy that it can help keep me busy and happy!

Not suggested if actually you need therapy.
If you've had a rough life, this is extremely triggering. I wouldn't suggest doing it unless you are really in therapy, as it asks you to recall a lot of negative experiences and your childhood. Still, I'm challenging myself to work through it, and follow it up with a positivity journal. I take it in very small doses. The humor is a bit too silly for me. I don't enjoy it. Still, this is a unique guided journal, something I can appreciate, as I've seen many. I think it serves a purpose.

This is so much fun! It makes me smile
This is so much fun! It makes me smile, it also makes me think and gives advice without even realizing. There's one page that asks what my ideal future would look like. then, on the next page it asks what I'm doing now to make it come true. I thought that was cool!

This book can be very tongue in cheek but does have some prompts that really make you think. The quizzes are fun and entertaining while getting the job done with your 'therapy' on other pages. It can be insightful.
