it brews water, what else can you expect it for? As for the whistle mechanism, it works just as normal, though I dind't need it.

It rusted the first timeI used it and does not whistle. Very disappointed.

Purchased in January. I think it's best to read reviews that people write after they've had the product a while. I was nervous about the kettle being from China, because of the metal, possibly poor, possibly having lead or something. I contacted the kettle's seller, they said it didn't have lead. I don't know if it does or doesn't, but after many uses, we were washing it last week, and noticed pieces of metal coming off inside the kettle. Don't know how long metal pieces have been coming off, but I may have ingested some before seeing that! It was working fine, don't mind that it doesn't whistle, but it does make a weird sound when boiled. That was okay. However, the other thing I did not like is that the lid and handle get very hot and could not be touched when the water was boiling. Had to use a pot holder to pour the water. Prefer another type of material in the areas you have to touch, a material that doesn't burn your fingers. Anyway, too late to return to Amazon, but wish it had lasted longer. Half a year, not too good. Guess I need to spend more next time and money on the next one. Any suggestions?

Great kettle, it does exactly what I need it to do. My only issue is that it doesn't whistle. It may be a user error maybe I put the lid together wrong. 🤷‍♂️

The whistling tea pot does not whistle, in fact really no sound at all. So disappointing. The tea pot is beautiful. However, must be returned because of no sound.
