I bought this not knowing about potential BMAA contamination. After discovering that BMAA is a major issue, I asked the company about it. They said they had no testing on it nor knowledge of it. That's that. Oh well. Trash. Anyone want some free H. pluvialis that may or may not be neurotoxic?

This is the same material as the 100 gram package from Wonderland. It is just a different quantity. I have been taking half a gram 480 mg per day of this powder for over a year, which would equal 24 mg/day of astaxanthan (if their claimed potency is correct). I would give them 5 stars, except that I have not independently tested the astaxanthan content of this powder. It is a deep red, as pictured. The odor is fine. Before ordering, I was concerned after reading Joel's 1 star review, but I read several papers on this topic. While not an expert, it appears to me that BMAA is sometimes produced in cyanobacteria, although it so far does not appear to be affecting commercial sources of spirulina. However, H.pluvialis is not even a cyanobacteria. Rather, H.pluvialis is a freshwater green algae. So, it appears that BMAA is not an issue.
