StantonN500 Replacement Stylus For Stanton 500 V3 Cartridges

I replaced the original cartridge on my 1970s vintage Fisher turntable with a Stanton 500 E series sometime in the late 1980s. After years and years of enjoyment, the turntable fell into disuse. I boxed it, but kept it in storage. Recently, I wanted to play some of my old vinyl LPs again. Great! I still have a turntable! Whoops, sometime in moving & storage the stylus took fatal damage. I was delighted that a replacement could be ordered. I choose this brand, received it in about a week, and was able to quickly mount it, a perfect fit. It sounds great, as good as ever! I'm impressed that this revival was possible across so many years.

Not entirely sure why people aren complaining about this not being a Stanton manufactured part, aside from not being able to tell from the post that it isn't. looking at the wording though it never says "this is a Stanton n500 stylus", it just says it's a replacement, which it is. it replaced my N500 and did the exact same job.if you have two tables, maybe get two if you think it's funny to have one black stylus and one white. but I didn't want to order two of these in the event that it wasn't the right part. but it was.im not sure if there's any difference in clarity between a new one of these and a new N500 as manufactured by Stanton, but it sure as hell sounded better than the worn out N500 it replaced.i dont even know how the shops sell the N500's for so cheap. i looked all over the intertubes and can't find them for as cheap as the stores except this one.in short, I will buy another. would buy this again. it's fine. sounds better than a beat up N500. it's black. not white. so yeah...

Its not white like the original stylus, but I did not buy it for its looks. What it sounds like is important, and this stylus sounds great. It is a genuine Stanton needle, according to the label, and does its job just fine. Thanks for allowing me to get by without having to replace the whole cartridge. My old needle was only reproducing one channel.

It sounds awful compared to the original. Distorted highs and washed out peaks. Very disappointing.

So far, this is proving to be a terrific replacement for the stylus that came with the Stanton 500 cartridge provided with my Stanton T.92 turntable. Though a substitute, the stylus so far is performing at a Stanton level--tracking everything, and tracking beautifully. Glad I sprang for this and not a less expensive after market needle of the type available on eBay and elsewhere. A high quality replacement for the original. Very happy with my purchase.

This is not the stylus pictured but seems to work just fine.

I'm having some issues with the stylus. It's black and different looking so I thought I got the wrong one, but found that it was to match the cartridge on my Stanton T.52. The louder sounds seem distorted, I put my old one back on to compare and it sounds pretty different. Not sure what to do?

Good stylus, pretty decent sound quality. Make sure you don't purchase this from My Needle Store International- they do not send the stylus pictured, but a cheaper version with poor sound quality.
