Aqueon NeoGlow LED Pink Aquarium Fish Tank Starter Kit, 5.5 Gallon

I love this fish tank. It's so bright and cheery. It arrived today and took very little time to set it up.I would say it's about 5 feet from me and I can hear the filter but it's not loud enough to be annoying. It's not like the bigger filters that I've had in the past that really pour water through. I'm hoping it's enough to keep the tank clean.I'm thinking about adding a bubbler. We'll see.The gravel that came with the tank seemed to be sufficient. I did order another bag just to be safe but I won't need to use it.It came with a thermometer and 2 plants.I bought some more plants to add plus a castle type decoration. I think it looks beautiful. I'll let it cycle for at least a day and a half and probably get fish on Thursday.One thing I didn't care for is the pink silicone in the seems came up and over the black ridge. I cut it off so the top would be seated properly. I bought a heater for it as well. I won't put it in until it starts getting cool. Thank you Aqueon. Love it!!

So much bad reviews have been said. But I love it. It works fine no leaks great value.. the only complain I have the filter is not quiet. Not loud but you can hear it. I bought a quieter filter ($15) and it made a big difference. But overall I love my tank, great design and includes everything.. no need to buy extra rocks, it’s plenty. I bought the suggested more rocks and didn’t use it. So great purchase.

Be careful when you open it because the part where it’s open that has the boxes . Meaning the plastic part on the inside of the tank where they put the box it’s really hard to get out and it’s really flimsy

The first one I ordered came shattered due to poor packaging. I was very excited that the replacement order came intact with the proper protective packaging (although almost a week later). Set up was fairly easy except as others have noted, there is no mention how to apply the background film in the instructions so I just taped it to the back of the tank.As a first time fish owner, I really liked the fact that this set included everything needed to start up including gravel and decor. And the price was excellent. I’ve done a lot of online searching, in store too and I believe this was the best deal. I purchased some additional decor items and it looks awesome! Definitely recommend.

So, I started back into the hobby Nov. 2017 and have bought all aqueon tanks and filters. Within 5 months 2 filters died of 4 tanks. But this review is about my new purchase. Tank number 5. A 5.5 kit for a Betta I will be buying soon. I was so happy when it arrived and it wasn't broken. I thought I was lucky, I could start my Betta tank.I unboxed it and started inspecting the tank. Now I'm familiar with their tanks I have two 29 gallons, a 20 and 10. Sure there has been extra silicone on the tank but easy to clean off. Further inspection on this tank showed uneven building where the ends over lap the side glass piece. This is on both sides. Not only that, the silicone seeped through on to the outside. I thought.. great it didn't come broken, but now I'm going to have a leaking problem because Aqueon has no Q&A. No, I will not waste my money shipping this back. I have it half full now to see if it's going to leak, which it probably will. It really gets me mad, for I loved the Aqueon brand, but now I'm going to have to reconsider.So in short.. not worth the 60 bucks.Update. It's best to buy another tank, like the ones at Walmart for half the price and the build quality is better. Not only that Tetra has excellent customer service .Update 2. Now that my tank has been running for a while I want to add.... the filter sucks.... and adding an HOB is out of the question without modifying the tank because how the mini bow filter sits in place.Also.... if the hood breaks or lights burn out you are screwed. They have no parts. Plan on changing filter once a week.Aqueon is a joke anymore.Zero stars.Any help aqueon?

I received my aquarium Wednesday evening and had the basic setup running within an hour. It is a beautiful setup and I haven't even added fish yet.Pros- FANTASTIC shipping materials. The product is well protected- Inclusion of gravel and fake plants - sometimes an extra expense on small kits- Full-color poster setup instructions- Glow gravel and light really pop- Quiet filterCons- The pink sealant along the edges is slightly worrisome as it seems chipped in places (no leaks so far)- Does not include a heater (HOWEVER, most small kits do not). You can find one for about $10, so no biggieTip - Read some articles about aquarium cycling before adding fish. I've put some live plants in mine and will add some fish food daily for one week to help stabilize the water before adding fish.

You guys are not getting more? I love it

This little aquarium is a perfect small size that’s easy enough for me to handle by myself without hiring a professional service that charges $65 month plus and it looks pretty - I just wish it had two light settings instead of just the one which is the led blue that makes the glow fish really glow brilliantly.
