Hi everybody!I would like to confirm that among 60 books and articles that are talking about kindergarten and nursery schools, this book seems to me the best what I have read.I believe no one can start thinking about building kindergartens or children's centres without guideline, and it could be the best!I have it and I'm so happy for that. Yes it is for professionals architects and interior designers and it is not cheep too. However, it worthwhile.

I heard about this book from Martin Liberio and have recommended it to any teacher looking to create an Early Learning environment.

Course reading constantly referred to how wonderful this book is, so decided to get a copy to see it for myself.

This is the bible of child day care design. Very well designed book in terms of content, organization, layout, and illustrations. She has very strong beliefs about child care, education, and the correct qualiy of spaces, which are expressed in every page of the book. In other words, this is not just a "guide" but very much her philosophy in action. You may not agree with all of her beliefs, but her passion, intelligence, and depth of experience are undeniable. I am an architect who has designed child care centers and published writing on child care design. This is still the best out there that I have seen.

Worth every dime!!! Anita Rui Olds has incredible insight into creating environments that are reflective of children and their interests. She believes that a child care setting should have "spirit." Included are Reggio-type environmental solutions that create a sense of wonder with an architecturally aesthetic sensibility. Lots of great ideas packed into this book. Only regret is that the pictures are too small and not in color. Would have been worth extra [$$] to have an expanded edition.
