I was trying to consolidate and clean up the USB wiring around my desk, so I picked up this hub.I had been using three hubs (my two monitors have built in hubs) and I was able to shrink it down to just this hub and clean up the wiring significantly. I'm very happy with the purchase.The Good Parts- 10 USB 3.0 Data ports, all powered- Nice metal chassis - very well built- Comes with mounting hardware- Plug and playHit or Miss- On the expensive side, but in the end it was worth it

Had to update this review after using the hub for about three weeks. Initial thoughts of it's build quality are unchanged....it's solid and should withstand a lot. However after about two-weeks the hub would randomly dis-connect, and with it, every peripheral that was plugged into it. Every time it happened required some plug in's to be reset to their required settings. Time consuming and frustrating. Despite every trouble shooting attempt I couldn't fix the problem (software, cables, ports, etc). Finally replaced the hub with another and everything has been fine. Two stars. It sorta works but certainly not the solution for reason it was purchased.

This massive USB hub was honestly made my desk organization so much better. Well OK, I still have a mass of wires on my desk, but at least they're all connected to something and not some connected or disconnected.No more USB economics; you get a port, and you get a port- everybody gets a port!Like that it comes with its own power plug, and the aluminum construction makes it look pretty great.Even the font used for numbering the ports looks cool. Definitely recommend (since I'm pretty sure all the ports are data-capable and 3.0 or maybe 3.1 compliant)

Busy ripping my video collection of DVD & Bluray titles to my PLEX server. Have 1 BDROM in workstation & 3 external BDROM & 9 external DVDRW. The old USB2 hubs I had didn’t provide sufficient power to the drives, so I had to use 2 USB ports / external drive. Bought this & hooked up on a USB 3.1 port on my workstation & plugged in its power adapter. This device is working well, providing power to 10 external drives.

I have to say, the hub itself feels tough and sturdy. I think I received a dud as the hub does power my devices but absolutely none of my USB 3.0 devices are sending data to any of my computers.Aesthetically, the aluminum looks and feel good. The bad? Those beautiful blue lights are made from a very, very cheap plastic and when I opened my hub from the box, the very first thing I noticed was these little plastic lights were chipped. Not all of them, but most of them. I had to tell myself "its okay, this is just the first of 100 of these hubs that I'll be buying". I literally need 100 USB 3.0 hubs, I purchased this device as a trial before purchasing the rest.As a result of the fact that there's no data transfer, the lights don't even turn on, and the fact that the plastic lights look like absolute crap, I won't be buying another one of these hubs. I won't be buying Vantec anymore. The box that the hub comes packaged in has no seal and I just can't risk the lack of quality.
