Plumb PakPP855-69 Air Gap for Standpipes, Grey

We got 3 of these for our water filters, all that have a regen cycle every few days (greensand, sediment, and water softener, and yes our well water is that bad - even after those filters, the water goes through a 6 stage RO for drinking and cooking), We have a drain pipe in the floor of our new house and these fit on the edge of it. There was some splashing at first, we had to shift things around to get the right angle, but no actual problems. Quality is good.

I’m using this to route our water softener drain line into the washing machine drain stand-pipe. Works great - I used black tape to secure the drain hose to the air gap assembly. I also drilled a small hole through one of the ‘ribs’ on the air gap and another small hole in the top of the stand-pipe, then installed a zip tie to secure the Air Gap to the stand-pipe and make sure it doesn’t get dislodged or removed. The water flows smoothly through the air gap and out of the bottom of the Air Gap device ... no splashing or overflowing observed.
