Linksys Velop Intelligent Mesh Wifi System, Tri-Band, 1-Pack Black (AC2200)

Good for the price.
These work great. Excellent coverage. One will get you a long way. If you have an apartment two will not be necessary, unless you plan on moving to a larger residence. These can handle plenty devices. I have 4 stars because the speed is limited in IP Passthrough with the Arris BGW from ATT. Don’t get me wrong you’ll have plenty speed. However, if you switch them to bridge mode the speed increases significantly. There is no fix for this and everything is set correctly, trust me. It’s not a big issue, but if you are knowledgeable in networking it will drive you crazy. If you are on a budget, you can’t beat them. If can spare a little extra cost, get the newer model. Regardless, tri-bands is the way to go.

When it works it’s great, but when it doesn’t, it’s not
When it’s working, the Velop system is great, good connectivity and hand off between nodes. My HUGE issue is that the Velop does not play well with Comcast’s WAN IP assignment. After a power or internet outage (which happen fairly frequently where I live), the Velop often fails to re-establih a WAN connection to my Comcast ISP. It’s not Comcast, I can connect with a simple old Vonage VOIP adapter just fine, but the Velop just won’t do it.. Sometimes has required an hour on the phone with support, reinitializing the Velop to factory settings and then reconfiguring my whole network. Real pain. Linksys really needs to fix this.

Best router I've ever had
Installed two routers 18 months ago and got great performance over 90% of a 4200 sq ft two story house - plus outside. However, the guest room over garage was not well served, so I added a 3rd (refurb) unit. I encountered some trouble setting it up, but the phone support was OUTSTANDING. They got me set up and running in short order, and then explained how to use the app and the website to check performance and fine tune locations for each unit. VERY HELPFUL FEATURE. Highly recommend this router.

Covers the dead spots
We’ve got a pretty big house with three floors. Our WiFi router is in the basement and the signal didn’t reach far at all. These have made it possible to have full strength WiFi throughout the house. It took 5 and playing around with placement but we now don’t have a problem even with the generator and irrigation which are outside and the far reaches of the garage. Very easy to set up and add modules.

Additional node added to my Linksys home mesh network
I was experiencing dropped home network devices in my family room. I have 2 nodes currently- the main node by my router connected via Cat-5 cable and one node at base of stairs for entire downstairs connected with WiFi. Bought one used mode to increase signal strength and what a difference. I added power to device and powered on. Using Linksys iPhone app, the new device was immediately found, recognized, and auto connected to my home network. Completed connection to home network in under 5 minutes with little input from me except to identify the network name. I’m very happy I bought this Linksys network last year and this additional node this year. I would recommend this device or another Linksys product. Very solid and straightforward to setup and use.

Powerful system simple setup
Everything about this product has enhanced my perception of Linksys through the user’s experience. As a 1980’s trained electrical engineer with DOD communications experience, I’m impressed with the amount of technology seamlessly activated in less than 20 minutes.

Love this! We had terrible signal upstairs before
Had to do something about two people teleworking and one streaming kid hanging out at home. This really improved our signal and we added an extra router upstairs. WiFi works great now
