Lots of good info
You get the techniques and the katas and bunkai . You may not agree with all the bunkai ( applications of kata ),but you can’t fault them for trying their best with their interpretation of it . You get lots of good drills . I give this five stars because if you’re looking to learn wado Ryu or looking for ideas to teach it with more variety this will be a big help For the price , this is a steal , and a wealth of information . Also , the Indian girl doing the katas is a cutie imho lol .

Good video
Good stuff. I saw someone say that the lighting was bad, however I saw nothing wrong with the lighting. Maybe it could have been a little bit brighter but I could see everything fairly clear. You can also buy a digital version of it through their website if you want. personally I had hoped the DVD would also include the online download, however they don't include it. The DVDs cover common mistakes made as well and have good details. Some applications are used but unfortunately no freestyle. I don't recall seeing any jiujitsu being covered, which is one of the arts the founder had studied before creating Wado Ryu

Great, Please read
great overall, felt that using a low ranking student and placing her in a dark light. Good basic technique, but for black belt, there should have been more on fighting and pressure points, and more detail. Thanks for for doing a great job on filming.

Wado Ryu Karate Home Study Fun and Through
The Black Belt In You home study course on Wado Ryu Karate is one of the most complete and enjoyable presentation of this system ever recorded. It belongs in the library of every Wado Ryu practioner from beginner to Black Belt instructor. This series most certainly would have pleased, Hironori Otsuka, the founder of Wado Ryu karate.

guter kurs

I have worked through the first 5 DVD's so far right from white belt and the attention to detail is excellent, there can be time
Firstly I must say the DVD's author went out of his way answering my queries even before purchase! Not having been to a class for a few years I wanted to get back up to the standard I was previously and then take it one step further and to be ready to then go on to grade for my black belt in the shortest possible time. I have worked through the first 5 DVD's so far right from white belt and the attention to detail is excellent, there can be times where a tiny part of a move is unclear but with a bit of rewinding/rewatching everything becomes clear, I must point out that I am a perfectionist and have to be convinced that everything is 100% right before I move on, so that may just be me that finds that!I am now going through them from the start again before moving onto to the final DVD, then for me it's a case of finding a Dojo, getting back into sparring and going for it! So overall, highly recommended!

Great boost to Karate Lessons
I have recently started Karate and bought this DVD to supplement my lessons. It's absolutely brilliant for this purpose. It comes with a DVD for each belt so you can focus solely on what is needed to attain each grade. The moves are broken down and dissected to show you each part of a move and understand how to perform it correctly. It shows commonly made mistakes and how to avoid them, who knew there was more to kicking than just swinging your leg? The only down side is that this fantastic learning tool was made by my instructors so I have no excuses to be getting things wrong in lessons!!!Would recommend to anyone at any level who wants to practice in the right way between lessons. The explanations of the Katas are particularly enlightening. 10/10 A must buy!!

top notch
Quality dvd. Top notch production, content, explanations and demonstrations.I am very impressed and believe this will bring my 7 year old son on leap and bounds to reinforce the info and practical taught in his karate lessons as he struggles to concentrate for the full hour.ive decided to do the dvd myself along side my insanity dvd .very highly recommended.dont hesitate to buy.from the thousands of products that I have purchased from amazon this is the first I've ever made the effort to leave a review. That speaks for itself.many thanks

A decent instroduction
Whilst a decent package of information, it is sadly wrong in many cases.BASICSOn the kicks, the instructor teaches you to step your front foot out to the side before bringing your leg up for a kick ... this is not only not the Wado way to do things, this isn't taught in any style as this telegraphs the move. Also on the kicks, this DVD tells you to bring your leg up to the side for a round kick. All Wado kicks begin from the front like a front kick (yes,, even the round kick)KATAThe katas have a great break down of each move and will greatly help you learn them fast (though your own instructor, if you a part of a club) may alter your stances slightly. The bunkai on this DVD-set are, not to say wrong, but extremely basic. The moves can be used as advertised on the DVD-set, but there is a lot more to the movements in each kata than is o display here (though for black belt, a knowledge of bunkai isn't part of the syllabus so it doesn't matter too much.)COMBINATIONSWhile the DVD-set shows some combinations well, it claims that there aren't really any combination requirements for each belt. This isn't true. Each grade has a different set of combinations and partner work strikes and defenses (these strike and defense combination are not featured on this DVD-set.) This will be because the producers were taught differently. Possibly from a lazy instructor. (the producers also made the DVD-set 140 COMBAT MOVES, which is amazing, and 140 MORE COMBAT MOVES, which I haven't yet seen) so I'm sure they wouldn't haven't much trouble learning these 'omitted' areas of grading materials.Either way, Wado beats Shotokan :-)
