Fodor's Bahamas (Full-color Travel Guide)

Well written and well-researched re Nassau (the only place I visited, though the book covers all the islands). Covers lodging options well, less thorough on restaurants, e.g., the crickets grounds club is a fun, funky place. Nice coverage of the various excursion options out of Nassau. Interesting sidebars and some good photos. More helpful than other guidebooks I looked at.

These books never disappoint. Great detail and beautiful photos. Really enjoyed this one. The book was really helpful on our trip to Paradise Island and Nassau.

The write-ups for Things to do, lodging and restaurants are very good. I especially like if there are Fodor recommendations. I sometimes felt that Fodor could have included more selections. I cross-check with some of the online travel sites, and their solid recommendations, that are positive, were not included in Fodor. Also wish that there were more mid-range selections, especially for lodging options. They either wrote about very expensive or low/moderate options, but fewer mid-range priced options. Otherwise, provides a good overview for first-time travelers to the Bahamas.

This book has a great big section on the part of Bahamas that we’re going to, and then a section on all the other islands. It’s a wonderful book full of information for our trip.

Like most Fodors books, this is a good book if you are going to the Bahamas. Lots of good info on attractions and restaurants, as well as good historical and cultural information.

This review is based upon the Kindle version and only the Grand Bahamas chapters. The book is occasionally helpful but mostly very superficial and lightweight. Very little is covered in much depth.

Bought this for our upcoming trip to Eleuthera. Lots of beautiful pictures and great advice.

This is now my husbands and my go to brand of travel guides when we travel. We first bought one when we went to Grand Cayman and when traveling back to the Caribbean we knew exactly what to get. We particularly like the dining aspect and how it rates them on price; not only do you know what you can budget for but you also know they type of food to expect. The sites the guide provides are definitely the hot spots, don;t be afraid to venture out on your own.This guide is broken down by island depending on where you are traveling and offers the same breakdown per island. Overall this is a great travel companion for any traveler.

This book tells you all about the bahamas everything a tourist would like to know. This is the best book I have come across to help me with sightseeing & exploring the islands. Its straight forward easy to read packed with a lot helpful info.
