Much Better than the Ready To Assemble
If you want something heavy duty, you want to buy this versus the ready-to-assemble (RTA) versions. These are welded construction. Having looked at the ready to assemble versions and compared it to this the welded versions are vastly superior. I am glad I purchased the 'premium' versions. If you want something just to look nice, but won't be doing much that is heavy duty, the RTA versions are probably fine. The welded versions are heavy, so you will want 2 people to move them around until you get the caster set installed. Now the details:Pros:Price - overall as compared to competition, after much web searching, is fairly reasonable.Casters - The caster set is included, unlike the RTA version. I don't know anyone who puts this kind of heavy equipment for a garage directly on the floor. Keep this in mind when comparing prices between the RTA.Extra Depth - The 24 inch depth and drawers that can pull out 90% of the way is very useful as compared to the 18" versions of competitors.Easy Assembly - Assembly of the casters took 15 minutes.Key Lock - There is a key lock that allows for easy movement without drawers opening or guarding your tools if you are using this at a jobsite / shared shop.Construction - The welded construction is done very well. This can definitely support the amount of load they specify it to hold.Cons:The drawers are non-latching. They do have a key lock, so this is not a major con. Some competition have the drawers that latch and require you to lift the handle to open a drawer.

Overpriced by at least 50%
Sooooo, are there different companies manufacturing Gladiator products? I wonder because I also purchased a Gladiator 8' maple top bench and the construction, finish and quality are above reproach. This product? This product is embarrassing.Prior to purchasing this product I'd extensively read the reviews on both this chest and the three drawer chest. The reviews highlight the same issues for both products. So, I wasn't going into this purchase blind. Unfortunately, this was the only chest I could find in the configuration I wanted. The quality is mediocre. This is a $150-175 product NOT an almost $500 product. Its ironic that the best quality part in the assembly is the castors and those are way over rated for the amount of weight you could actually put in the chest. The sides and drawers use what looks like 18 GA. Whatever it is, its too thin for the used its being employed in. The drawer sizes are great, especially the bottom drawer. Unfortunately, there is no way you could fill that drawer with tools before the drawer would collapses. Don't take the drawers out either unless you have someone handy to help put them back in. As noted by others, the sides are so thin and bow out that the tracks don't line up - someone has to push the sides in while you are inserting the drawers to get the tracks to engage. And, unfortunately, it doesn't stop there. :(There is a reason that Amazon year after year is in the red and its shipping expenses are ridiculously high and continue to escalate out of control. ALSO, as noted in the reviews, Amazon seems totally unable to ship anything larger than a microwave without it turning into a huge nightmare. The first one showed up looking like it was dropped out of a truck doing 80 MPH down the Interstate. I refused delivery. I contacted Amazon's OH, SO awesome India help desk to tell them what happened and request another one. I was SOOOO happy that Amazon valued my business SO much that they were even going to wave charging me shipping on the second unit. Yes, siree, Bob, that's when you know you've got there. When a company doesn't charge you for THEIR f#$k up.So, the India help desk woman who obviously couldn't understand half of my email said they'd 'get right on it' and get me a replacement unit out. When? Well, she'd have to see but as soon as possible but vaguely mentioned getting it to me the following Saturday. I'd be hearing from someone.A few days latter I get an email from a shipping company that they'd scheduled my 'pick-up' for the following Tuesday and would be seeing me sometime between 10-3 - or therein abouts. I called the shipping company to find out what exactly they were 'picking up'. I suspected that this was the drop off of the second unit, but no, they had nothing to do with a 'drop off'. They were supposed to be picking something up. Well, maybe they were dropping something off, too, but they didn't know and nothing had showed up yet so we'd have to wait and see.At 7:30 AM the following Saturday - three days after the email above - an UNSCHEDULED, UNANNOUNCED delivery truck shows up in my driveway with a replacement. Damaged. Thankfully, the damage is minimal and I was willing to deal with it rather than deal with some retarded India help desk person. Again. I did the assembly required and shoved into my garage and went back upstairs to try and get some more sleep than the 3 hours I was working on.At 1:00 PM that same day ANOTHER UNSCHEDULED, UNANNOUNCED delivery truck shows up in my driveway. Yes, you guessed it, with another chest. Damaged. Again. Worse than the previous one earlier the same morning but not as bad as the first unit. I told the delivery person that I'd already received one earlier that morning, and no, I didn't want this one, and I didn't care what he did with it, as far as I was concerned it wasn't mine and it wasn't my problem. I rejected delivery and he could do with it as he pleased. The alleged 'pick up' scheduled for the FOLLOWING Saturday? I have no idea if they showed up or not. At this point I'm so disgusted with Amazon that I'm hard pressed to make myself continue doing business with them. They have managed to very nearly waste as much in shipping as the chest sells for while continuing to whine about their ever escalating shipping costs. So, like many have said, I will not buy another product like this from Amazon. My time too valuable to spend wasting it dealing with this level of incompetence. I might be slightly less critical if the product was actually WORTH $500 or if it was only selling for $75, but I guess I don't have the stomach for incompetence while being overcharged and being treated like I'm being done a favor.

Extremely poor packaging - expect damaged item
I saw this product assembled at Sears and thought it was very sturdy and could be used to hold my portable table saw. When it arrived from Amazon, the packaging was so obviously flimsy that I knew it was going to be damaged. Sure enough, it was - bent, dinged and out of square so some of the drawers would not open freely. Amazon was good about the return and overnighted a replacement which arrived the following day. Inexcusably, it too came in unbelievably flimsy packaging and it was damaged worse than the first!!This time I returned it for a refund. And while UPS did come to get it, it took multiple tries and wasted a lot of my time. I literally spent TWO hours trying to put the packaging back together just so UPS could take it back. The thin and inadequate internal Styrofoam blocking was all crushed and pulverized and I had to tape all the pieces back together. A REAL PAIN and WASTE FO MY TIME. So, my advice, stay away.

Dents, Dents, Dents
Is there no gladiator product that I purchase going to be dent free? I picked this up from a brick and mortar store and upon opening the box I saw that there was a huge dent in the bottom front edge. Taking it back to the store the worker exclaimed that "it looks like someone went at it with a hammer". I went ahead and exchanged it with another that appeared to be dent free. Unfortunately, when I got home I discovered that the bottom right edge on my new one was dented as well. Thankfully the installed bumper guards (cheap feeling plastic) cover the dent. Minus the bumper guards the rest of the geardrawer appears high quality (welded frame and heavy duty casters). However, you'll need to trim the drawer liners as they don't properly fit the drawers. Overall the drawer is a nice addition if you already have other Gladiator products. I don't think it is worth it to pay full price but if it is on sale and you're willing to live with a few dents go for it.

Nice cabinet - works well
Nice cabinet - works well. Bottom drawer holds two power tool cases (drills) with room for bits. Comes with foam liner sheets for the drawers.
