Freewheels have notoriously been considered the Achilles' heel to the drive train system. Traditionally, the freewheel has been considered a disposable component that should be replaced on a regular basis. We approached the component differently. We set out to create and manufacture a freewheel that would be durable, reliable, and easily maintained. We succeeded in our endeavors and the ENO freewheel is now regarded as an industry leader. The freewheel utilizes a sealed cartridge bearing instead of a loose ball system. The advantage of the cartridge bearing is that it is sealed from the elements such as mud, grit, and water. The other benefit is that the bearing is nicely contained in one simple unit and easily pulled and replaced when worn. The ENO freewheel features a machined inner driver and machined outer gear case resulting in a freewheel that runs concentrically without the tight loose spots common to other freewheels. 36t engagement system and a case hardened, electroless nickel plated outer gear case make this freewheel a perfect addition to your single speed. 2nd best freewheel that money can buy
When I purchased this one I had done my research and test ridden a bike that already had one, as well as had previous experience with the Dicta / ACS low end single speeds. The 36T engagement with the 3 pawl construction allows for faster engagement, which is the most noticeable difference between this and the Dicta / ACS freewheel. When going from coasting to pedaling the engagement is comparable to the conventional free hub mechanism found in cassette based hubs of low-to-mid range racing wheels. I run my freewheel on the road and light dirt conditions; I don't see myself ever having to service the freewheel but if I had to, the servicing instructions are easy to read with good illustrations and easy to follow instructions. I use a Park Tool FR-6 freewheel remover to remove my freewheel. This is good for:* Anyone who breaks lower end freewheels* Anyone that does a ton of miles on a single speed* People that know what size freewheel they want* Racers competing in SS events.* Muddy conditions. This is not good for:* Ninja bikers who want silence - when coasting, it's very noisy, like bees swarming.* People who haven't figured out what size freewheel they want - save you money, go with lower end freewheels until you figure it out, then buy this one.* Trials riding - there's a trial's version of this freewheel with faster engagement.* Riders who are used to higher end hubs with very quick engagement and refuse to use anything less than the super quick engagement hubs on their race wheels - this is more comparable to a mid-range hub; the Trials version of this freewheel will have faster engagement.

The simple things in life that makes us men happy.
My first order of the 36t was damaged during shipment HOWEVER Amazon did an amazing job with getting me a replacement ASAP. Man I absolutely love this product. Two of my favorite things are the smoothness and that amazing wasp sound while cruising. Must buy100%

Worth it, will last.
You should know that the 'clicking' sound on freewheel sprocket is not indicative of low quality, it's simply how many of them are made. This Freewheel can in no way be considered cheap or inexpensive, yet it makes the loud clicking whir you may have heard before on bicycles. For this reason alone I had to buy another one that doesn't make that noise. But, if you like the sound, then this is the one you want. You won't have to replace this one after a year of hard riding like most.If you're looking for a silent freewheel, I'd suggest this:https://www.amazon.com/Shimano-SF-MX30-Single-Freewheel-Chrome/dp/B000AY5SW6

Great freewheel
I got this to put on a single speed road bike and I'm glad I spent the extra cash to get the White Industries one. You can tell it's a quality product and that it will last. I've only got a couple hundred miles on it (if that), so we'll see how time treats it.UPDATE JAN 2014:Still very happy with this product. Still holding up flawlessly. Hasn't seemed to wear at all in over 6 months.

Better than the rest.
Solid freehub... I was one of the people that got the cheaper freehub thinking that there can't be any difference between the White Industries and the cheaper ones. Wrong..

Very high quality
Your bike will ride like a piece of junk until you buy this, so you might as well buy this.

Quality is 2nd to NONE
White Industries ENO Freewheels are the best! No if, ands or buts about it. They cost more, because they are the best on the market hands down!
