This Author 'Gets' The Read-Aloud Rhythm! (Great Illustrations Too)
What a little gem of a book.I spent years reading aloud to small children at school, not to mention reading to my own four children when they were small... and I was always delighted when I found a picture book that was (a) easy and rhythmic to read aloud and (b) well-illustrated. That's not an easy combination, but Luis C. Lewis has nailed it.What did I like about this book:1. The simple, fun text that parents will enjoy reading and little kids will enjoy listening to. (They'll love predicting Liam's responses, too - I can hear them saying "Nope!" even now!)2. The way everyone will identify with this everyday situation - the child who steadfastly maintains that NO, he's not sleepy... even though he can't keep his eyes open! (And loved the way he got a second lease of life, just as kids do in real life...)3. The illustrations are top class.4. The added value! You click on a link and get high-quality activities in a convenient downloadable and printable PDF. The author's website is lovely, and you discover that he's written even more great books!Well done. I can't wait until the next time my 3-year old grandson starts exploring 'his' Kindle books on my iPad and finds this little treasure.Write some more, quick!

One of THE Best Kids Books!
My friends new baby is named Liam so I bought this because the character has the same name. My son is 16 and I read a million books to him in his childhood. Wish I’d had this one! It’s absolutely brilliant. I showed my son and he thought it was adorable too. If you have a kid buy this, I’m confident you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended!

Liam, Are You Sleepy Yet?
This is a cute book for young children. The illustrations are also cute. The words are printed directly on the pages which gives it the appearance of a real book. However, this means the story itself cannot be read to the child by the tablet via the Text-to-Speech function. (I am using a Kindle Fire HD.)

Cute book
There is no rhyming flow or great prose to this book, but my 2 year old enjoys answering "Nope" when the question "Liam are you sleep yet is asked?". This is a short and quick way to end a before bedtime reading session but not enough substance to start the nigh time reading process.

Love it! Love it! Love it!
For the little Liam in your life, this book can't be surpassed. It is simple, funny, and the "nope" refrain encourages participation in the story.

Should You Buy This? Yup!
Looking at the cover in all of the brown tones, I was positive that I would find this book blah. Oh I love when I am wrong. The parent keeps asking questions of Liam, describing all of the active things he has done during the day, in the hopes that he will go to bed and sleep. To each question Liam answers "Nope". The rhythm of the book is fun and frolicky and is a pleasure to read aloud. The illustrations are amazing, even with the color scheme. The hint of blue that occasionally appears and Liam's facial expressions are so emotive.Do I recommend that you purchase this book? Yup!

Lots of fun!
Cute and funny book for preschoolers. My grandkids laughed and then began to respond for Liam after we read so many times. Very enjoyable will keep my eyes open for other Liam books.

A wonderful little story book
I think any parent can relate to the mother in this book because we all have had children who were not ready for bed at their regular time. Lewis did a fantastic job of showing how the mother gradually convinced Liam that it was okay to be sleepy and that he could have new adventures the next day. I truly loved this little book. I highly recommend this book to all parents of younger children.Gaston Sanders, Author

I found this book a little boring. I have been buying books where the main character is Liam for my friend's son since he was born and by far this is the only book he was not really interested in.

Awesome book
My four year old son loves the story and has since had the confidence to start to read it himself. With some very tricky words I thought it would put him off but he has managed to learn most of them.

Very good
We enjoyed this book because the owl shares the same name as my son and like Liam in the story he never wants to go to sleep and always asks is it daytime yet. Simple and repetitive makes us laugh had it on sample so good to find out how it ends. Enjoyable bedtime or anytime read.

Life saver
I purchased this book as a result of being stuck in a caravan with a 5 year old who wouldn't go to sleep without a story. He thoroughly enjoyed it and it was repeated over the next 2 nights.
