Excellent product at a great price.
The sound quality is excellent. I wanted stereo recording capability and this microphone does the job well. The build quality is excellent. All in all an excellent stereo microphone that delivers. It is quite sensitive and with all the filtration active it still catches the noise of my cameras motorized focus when it is attached to the camera itself, however, once attached to the top of my DSLR Video RIG setup the sound of the motors and servos can be filter out. The anti-vibration shock mount does not have any means of attaching the microphone to the mount itself so it can slip out of mishandled and I am sure there are no "clips" on it so that the microphone stays absolutely independent of the mount to prevent as much noise as it can. Other microphones I have that are physically attached to the shock mount (clipped to the bands) still pick up the sound of auto focus mechanisms, in comparison this one the noise is imperceptible and can be filtered out. I will simply add a pair of zip ties around the barrel of the microphone and that will keep it from slipping out quite nicely, I don't see that happening unless some very rapid movements of the camera occur. Also the "dead cat" wind screen is a must. If you are recording outside in any kind of breeze at all. Without it, a 1 mph breeze is a noticeable rumble and you will hear it unless you are perfectly aligned so the wind blows around it from behind. (Wyoming, the wind never stops) So after the first use of the microphone, I just put on the windscreen and figure I will leave it on there. It is a definite must have for this microphone and I recommend just attaching it as soon as you get it out of the box. This purchase also comes with extra bands for the shock mount and a well made soft bag with pull strings to carry it in. I will keep it in the bag and put it in my designated sound equipment carry case to prevent it from bangs and bashes. This is the third MOVO brand microphone I own and I have been happy with them all. AND not to be forgotten, the supplied cable for this microphone appears to be gold plated, and I love the way it screws into the microphone base for secure attachment and will not pull out. I am purchasing a right angle adapter to connecting it to my Tascam DR60 MKII recorder so that it doesn't get a stress fracture on the cable over time. The coiled cord pulls tight on the connector so I just want to avoid the inevitable. If the cable were only going to my camera it would not be a problem , but the Tascam recorder is another 6 inches to reach and this extra length is a problem. Not that the cable is poorly made, used as provided to the camera alone it would be a perfect fit without too much tension and minimal loose slack in the way, but I figure a 6 dollar short right angle extension is worth the precaution and will make a perfect fit.

Very good mic for the cost.
Tested on Nikon D7500;mic needs about 1" clearance from camera with dead cat;cold shoe spacer.Tested on Sony NXT-U70 newscam; really adds too much height when using the XLR adapter (needed for rec level control)Excellent battery mission life: 3 days + (Li ION 9V )Light weight.---BigI might consider it for mic stand and boom operation.

Meh. Not much better than your internal phone or tablet mic.
The media could not be loaded. Meh. I hooked this up to an iPad with a TRRS adapter and the difference was, minor, from the internal iPad mics (a $329 2017 iPad.. nothing special). Video of the difference is attached. I did this with an LG G6 phone as well and the LG sound was better than the mic.

While the Zoom H1 micophone is great for vlogging and interviews
While the Zoom H1 micophone is great for vlogging and interviews, the Movo VXR400 microphone seems to do a stellar job at recording the distant sounds and the sounds of nature. Could clearly hear distant dogs barking and distant sounds of people talking where as the Zoom H1 had put more emphasis on the nearby ambient sounds and noise. Both microphone levels were set at -12dB. 9 volt lithium battery seems to last forever in this microphone.

Off to a poor start-mic fell off camera on first use.
Finally got to use this... and the cage that holds the mic to the hot-shoe came off the hot-shoe. It seems that this shipped with a screw that doesn't fit it's own mount. It's not stripped- if I put the screw directly in the hot-shoe, it grabs, but when I try to tighten it throught the mic cage, it isn't long enough to find the threads in the hot shoe mount.

Works great with DLSR video. Full Sprectrum sound.
This mic works great on top of Canon 7D II for video. Full spectrum sound, much more natural than built in mic that is on the camera.

Perfectly fine. Can't beat the price.
I'm using it on a Nikon D3300 DSLR and it is a world better than the built-in mic. Great for windy environments. No problems after 1 year of recording youth sports.

Ok for the price...You get what you pay for.
Not the lightest one to have on the Camera. I gave it away to a guy that didn't have one and I purchases a Rode.
