Only knife you'll ever need, lasts a lifetime honest
I love this knife. My old one got a wobbly handle at only about 30 years into daily use for chopping veggies and fruits, ham, you name it. They fixed it for nothing! But now I have two, these are going into my will. After chopping many vegetables for stir fry the knife scoops them right up from the board. Perfect. The only thing this doesn't work on is bread or turkey, both of which really need serrated knives. And maybe a mango...use a little paring knife for that. Otherwise it is for everything.

Unfortunate cleaver
The blade on this cleaver seems pretty good, but the handle came off exactly 31 days after purchase. It turns out the handle and blade were only attached by a what appears to have been a staple. Now I'm stuck with it. Don't buy this.

Big, bad, steel just ok, difficult to use unless you know how
Overall, I am pleased with this knife. It was the only major knife type I still did not have, and I like it very much for chopping carrots, celery, and other "short" vegetables (NOT including potatoes). I get a really bad callous on the side of my index finger when I use it for too long, but I really like the heft and balance, and the fact that you can scoop up your veggies all at once to put them in the pot or wherever. Edge retention is only so-so, and I have to steel it regularly, and have used my diamond sharpener on it once so far. Would buy again.

A real chinese cleaver! So great!
The Chinese vegetable cleaver is my favorite knife. It is very easy to sharpen, very easy to rapidly slice or chop vegetables, and very easy to slide the knife under the cut vegetables and carry them to the cooking pot. I consider the Chinese cleaver to be much more convenient than the typical Japanese vegetable knife because if has a much larger blade, which makes it so much easier to use. Even though the blade is large, the knife is not heavy. Sharpen it often and keep a film of olive oil on it. It will last and you will love it. (This is NOT a meat cleaver. I broke my first Chinese vegetable cleaver by using it to cut frozen chicken.)

Beautiful and well made knife
This knife is beautifully made and feels sturdy. It has quickly become my go to knife! Cuts are smooth and straight and the size and shape of the blade makes it a great tool for scooping chopped veggies off the cutting board and into the pot on the stove. I would highly recommend this knife, especially if you chop a lot of veggies!

Nice blade, small handle
Upon receiving the cleaver, I noticed the handle is a bit small for someone with my size of hands. Otherwise, the knife is beautifully made, a wonderful addition to my kitchen arsenal!

Has a loose handle problem over time (I have 2) ...
Has a loose handle problem over time (I have 2) but I jammed a couple shims in and they are top notch. one is 12 years old and no chips on edge and I work with this. It's a vegetable cleaver, not an all purpose or meat. It's light but full size. Just mean not to chop bones with it. Get a Dexter for that.

Chinese Cleaver
Lighter than the 8" chef's knife I usually use, but very sharp. Great time saver in lifting cut veggies and meat to the the pan/bowl. The handle is a bit wiggly and I wonder how durable it really is.
