High Quality Knife
I have been using this knife for a few months for the task it was designed. It cuts rope flush and clean and stays sharp for a long time. When it needs to be sharpened the straight blade is easy to sharpen. The marlin spike is very useful for splicing rope and loosening knots. It came in a very nice case that I have no use for as the sheath is also nice. The knife and spike stay in place in the sheath without fear of falling out. I will remember to put a cord through the well placed hole in the hilt at the same instant I watch this knife fall from my mast and into the sea.

Great combo, high quality and ready to work out of the box.
Wow, what a pleasant surprise. The knife, spike and sheath work great. The knife is sharp out of the box and the marlinspike is just right, not too sharp tipped, as many are from various other makers / vendors. This kit was immediately useful and now lives on my sailboat. Planning on purchasing another for on shore use.

Smaller rethink of a grand knife.
Smaller than former Myerchin knives, it uses an "inner lock" instead of Myerchin former lock method, the newer they claim is stronger. The 'marlin spike' does not lock in a straight line with the handle but I have not had a chance to try it yet so I don't know if this good or bad. Very attractive and feels solid in the hand. If you can afford it it is a knife to be proud of.
