Great, but don't let the battery die out.
I had the 8 GB version of this for 3 years, before it stopped taking a charge. It was easy to use, and the equalizer was great. Loading music was no issue: connect it to my laptop, copy, paste, done. I loved it. This is the 16 GB version, and it has the same features. I love it, except the battery shouldn't be allowed to drain. Then, and the same thing happened with my 8 GB, I should have remembered, issues can pop up with turning it back on, even when it's charging.

Absolute garbage
My wife had been using a Sandisk Clip Zip player for years, and it finally died. So we got one of these refurbished Sport Clip Go players as a replacement. What the heck happened at Sandisk that this thing is so much worse than the Clip Zip was?On the old Clip Zip player we replaced the operating system with RockBox, but on this one that's not possible because apparently it doesn't have enough memory. So you're stuck with the software it comes with, which is just awful. There's no port for a memory card. That was the first shocker - I thought that was Sandisk's whole thing, making players that work with their external memory cards. We had planned to just remove the card from her old player, pop it in this new one and away we go. Nope, I had to manually copy all the files from the memory card over to the player's internal memory. The File view shows things in completely random order. When I ripped our music collection to MP3, I carefully set up a whole folder structure and numbered the tracks 01, 02, etc. All of that is useless on this thing's File view.It doesn't support playlists. My wife had a ton of custom playlists she had put together on her Clip Zip, and none of them work on the Sport Go. After doing a TON of research online and playing around with the player, I finally got some of the playlists to work, but it took a lot of manual effort and editing. And many of them still won't play.Between the time I bought this refurbished model and the time I wrote this review, the product seems to have been discontinued. But should it ever come back on the market, don't even consider buying this overpriced piece of junk.

Poor battery life, no expansion card, slow & clunky interface. Not worth the money
10 yrs ago, SanDisk made an amazing MP3 player. It had a clock, remembered your place on different audiobooks (so you could switch between books w/o losing your place), had a slot for up to 32GB expansion card, had a super fast rewind & fast forward, and had a fantastic battery life. But with each new model, they've removed features, made it less usable, and raised the price. The Clip Sport Pro may be the worst one yet. It takes seemingly forever to turn it on and get it to play. The interface is slow & clunky. There is no expansion card, so it doesn't hold much media. The refurbished unit I bought as a backup cannot have had a new battery, since it ran down halfway after only 2 hours of test use. My 3yr old player still shows a nearly full charge after 8hrs of use. I honestly don't trust the battery on this player to last too long, so I'm returning it. I might have put up with all the other annoyances if the battery was more reliable. Not sure what "refurbished" means, but I don't think it included replacing the battery.

Wonky. Pretty good when it works.
I use it for podcasts/audiobooks. When it works, it's great for exercising or traveling. Very light, convenient clip-on, and good battery life. The problem is that it seems to stop working every so often. So far it's bounced back each time after a day or 2. It's possible that if treated delicately, it might be more reliable, but I'm ordering a different brand and hoping I get a better and more reliable experience.
