This is the best and clearest explanation of Dorothy Heathcote's in depth approach to creating a dramatic context for classroom curriculum.It explains how to examine curriculum subjects for dramatic potential, to enable children to become experts in a field of work and then work within the context of that work. This approach is called, "Mantle of the Expert". I have used this approach successfully for many years. It engages children's interest and helps them learn the subject matter in depth. Students may become town planners to study geometry, Arctic explorers to study math, museum curators to study the American Revolution.

I studied drama with Dorothy and this book was useful tool to bringing her knowledge and challenges together

Did my dissertation on MoE and hoped this book would be informative and helpful. It wasn't. Read though it a few times and really couldn't tell you anything about it. I didn't find it helpful atall. Waste of my time and the MoE website is much better.
