Pertronix40501 Flame-Thrower Ignition Coil, 40,000 Volt 3 Ohm, 12 Volt, Chrome

This hotter coil does exactly what it says, and it looks very good doing it. I’m running this in my 72 Mini and I’m very pleased with its performance in operation.

did not have to run ballast resistor with this coil that is why i got it, however i could not tell a performance difference from stock delco remy coil , might be but i could not tell

Every time I need to replace a coil on an air-cooled VW, I get one of these. Killer hot spark and I have yet to have any issues with any of them. Paired with PerTronix Electronic Ignition Distributor, makes for a great running VW.

Coil arrived in good condition, but can't say the same about the packaging. the box it came in was pretty ripped up. i was happy i got he chrome cover though - you weren't offered a choice. i did mult. upgrades to the car at the same time so any changes in performance i can't guarantee are due to installation of the coil. i can guarantee that the one i received works and i'm happy with it.

Have it on a 1974 vw beetle and it looks great and works perfect no complaints the only thing is you have too take the wire connectors off the old one and put them on the new one because it should be 2 on one side and 3 on the other side but it was only 2 on both sides but no biggie everything worked out great
