How to.... Dehydrator
Only for using with a dehydrator. It's good book, lots of information. But this is only for dehydrating using a dehydrator. I was hoping to get information on also traditional ways of dehydration.

A rehydration recipe book - absolutely NOT a comprehensive dehydration guide.
The book is marketed as "everything you need to know about dehydration like a a pro" . This is, at best, misleading. This is a recipe book based on rehydrating foods with a bit about a few dehydration methods at the front. This may well be, and by the ratings clearly is, very useful to many people. For me this is a waste of tree. Even given the 120 pages (of over 350) that skim the dehydration process of a few particular foods, barely a fraction of the fruits and veggies I grow are given space in the index, let alone given serious consideration in the content. General, useful scientific information is negligible and applied science is zero within these covers. To summarise - this is NOT a book about dehydration. This book should be re-entitled "Rehydration recipes" - because that, in essence, is all it is. If you are interested in how to dehydrate food to maximise taste, structure , etc., and you want to understand what occurs to the food during that process (because that will assist in attaining the outcomes any "pro" or semi pro is looking for) - from source to plate - then this is not the book for you.Waste of a tree as far as I am concerned - it will be in a charity shop tomorrow!

Ultimate dehydrator book
I have been drying food for years now and still find this a great book, with plenty ideas on how and what I never thought of.It explains it all from simple drying herbs to start up to making fruit leathers, jerky, backpacking and camper food, bread and crackers, snacks, cup a soup, stews, chili's...... Even for the slow cooker it has recipes. There is also a section of main dishes, salsas, pickles.Every time I go read in it, I find more interesting stuff to make.It is an American book, but there is an metric equivalent table in the back so you will not have any difficulties. As the title says, this is the ultimate dehydrator book on the market, you do not need any other book if you have this 1.

An excellent useful book.
I really struggled to decide which dehydrator book to buy after reading all the reviews. I am so pleased I chose this one as it has such a wide range of food in it and many methods and uses. It is well laid out and I find it easy to find my way around it.

Dehydrator cookbook
Other reviews are right about this very informative book that's surprising thick, with many ideas and recipes for dehydrating fruit and veg. I'm following tip it gives to store dried food in airtight glass jars, as I'm trying to steer away from plastic. I highly recommend for anyone wishing to extend food preservation and storage beyond that of the humble freezer, especially if like me they have an allotment and suffer from the occasional glut that might otherwise go onto the compost heap.

The perfect Dehydrator Cookbook.
My daughter bought me a dehydrator appliance for Christmas, and then bought me this book for my birthday. I'm so glad she did, and I can't wait to try out some of the recipes inside. This cookbook is very concise and easy to read and use. I would recommend it to everyone interested in food dehydration techniques.
