So I already had an office chair mat that technically did the job, but I really didn't like how it indented when you stopped moving, which would make it hard to reposition myself due to my chair being sunk into the mat. So when this mat went on sale, I thought I would just try it out and see if it was an improvement over my current one.The mat came packaged in a box and rolled up. Just like the other reviews say, the unboxing process does need some care due to the mat having a lot of tension when you remove the packaging. I did notice that the edges were pretty raw and looks like they were just cut from a roll, but definitely not so sharp that I needed to be careful. My older mat definitely had a nicer machined edge than this one.When I placed this one down next to my original mat, I was immediately skeptical because touching it, I could already tell that this new one was slightly thinner and more flexible in my hand. Regardless, I still switched it out for a proper test drive. I pulled my chair back on it, sat down, waited a moment, and then repositioned myself... and I rolled perfectly smooth without any indentation resistance! I was pleasantly surprised to see that even though this material is technically thinner, I think it has more rigidness to resist chair wheels sinking in.Visually, the mat has a "crystallized" texture that makes it shimmer, but still maintains a clear transparency without being foggy or frosted. The back side has knobs that hold the mat against carpet. I did see reviews that complained about cracking so I will keep an eye out for durability and update this review if I have any issues. So far, I am extremely happy because I've tried a couple mats and this was undoubtedly the best option considering price, quality, and performance. So far, so good!

This is a wonderful mat. It is thick and does not indent when sitting on a chair for long periods. Heavy Duty and perfect hard to find size. Best I have ever purchased

Absolutely LOVE this mat!We have high pile carpet and tried the cheaper route with another mat , but the cheaper one sagged/became dented with the weight of the chair.This one is super high quality, though… very rigid and doesn’t give way… but also doesn’t seem like it will ever crack. It’s like they totally got the thickness and rigidity nailed down 👍🏼

The material, polycarbonate, is prone to cracking, especially if used on medium or high pile carpet, which are the majority of carpets that are found in homes. For the price, I think that a person can do much better with other offerings on the market. I'd look for a "polyvinyl chloride" offering.

The media could not be loaded. So far so good, and really good this protector works really well. I've had others before where the chair Wheels sink into the protector and made it difficult to move, however this is not the case with this item it works very well and I highly recommend it as far as the durability I don't know how long it will last I've only had it for a month or so. A couple of star ratings that I didn't participate in one is durability and the other is value for the money because you really can't tell on short term ownership.

Exactly what I needed for my computer chair and desk. I use my computer a lot and I have plenty of room to go from desk other areas to get files and other items needed. Hard to find this size and opens flat which is another plus.

Just installed this mat last night in my office. Is it so much nicer than what I had! There's simply no comparison. I had to replace the one I had because I rearranged my office and needed more room for my chair to move on the carpet. What a stroke of luck! Because it's so much sturdier and thicker than the one I had, this mat immediately straightened out when I took the plastic off it. So I was able to install it the day it arrived. My old one took several days to unroll because it kept wanting to curl up as sold. Very happy with my purchase!One helpful note about unpacking these mats: Do NOT ignore the warnings about how to unroll the plastic wrapping. Make sure you unwrap the plastic around the mat with the mat lying horizontally ON THE GROUND & not standing up vertically. When the plastic wrapping is loosened, these mats will suddenly spring into shape and you can't be in their way!

Overall there is nothing really special and not really thicker than others as I was hoping, but I wanted a very large surface so I wasn't always rolling off the edges. I was hoping for a thicker gauge to limit the flex under the chair.What is really problematic to me was that they obviously just cut this from a roll and they didn't round the edges or corners. There was still small bits stuck/melted to the mat from the cut. For this premium price I would expect that the corners would be rounded so as not to catch on or cut your hand or feet. I spent probably 1 hour hand sanding all the edges and rounding the corners. I'm happy now but extremely disappointed that the supplier couldn't even round off the edges/corners simply to make this safe to handle. If you have kids or walk barefoot on/around this the likelihood one might cut themselves is extremely high unless you take the time to sand and clean up the corners/edges.I did keep it because I needed this ASAP so as not to damage the new carpeted, but I expect this may fail in a few years and I will and would recommend buying a tempered glass mat next time. The price is not all that more expensive and would last likely a lifetime, rather than a few years as I expect this will.
