I'm not young. I'm far from my lineage's first generation of Americani. I have never seen language written the way my grandparents pronounced it. I thought it was a pidgin of Italian based on the stories my grandmother told me about miscommunication with her Italian mother-in-law.Honestly I haven't read through it yet, I'm just so emotionally overwhelmed to have it that even a few minutes flipping through now and then makes me very happy. As a polyglot I'm thrilled to finally have access to my family's native language, the language I learned first alongside English but was never formally taught. The adults never taught us children because they didn't want us to understand what they were talking about.Beautifully done. Much gratitude. This was clearly a labour of love and I'm feeling that love every time I crack it open.Get it. It's worth the possibility of unlocking your heritage and seeing what you thought you heard all those years ago, validated.

One thing I found refreshingin your work was your search for your mother's surname.I have two basic surnames: My birth name was ZOTTOLO, stemming from Mazzara, Anello Sicily...the Arabic side. My grandfather was Marco Zottolo, My Grandmother was a Giacalone. my second surname was BOMPENSIERO, stemming from the Bompensiero's, Buonpensiero's and Buompensiero's and TAGLIAVIA'S of Porticello, Sicily fame. Very informative, has a large variety of translated words and is extremely useful in helping guide your learning of The Sicilian Language.

The book was everything I hoped it was, a very detail book on the words and definitions of the Sicilian language and it’s phrases.

Very good beginners Sicilian Dictionary with pronunciation.

Informational and some cool pictures I like this book worth the money if you can afford it it's a great peace to add to your collection
